“Burnt pizza - didn't care”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013 via mobile

I have to say I was very disappointed with this restaurant tonight. I stopped in for a quick bite to eat – had heard that the pizza was good.

Unfortunately, as you can see from the picture, they did not live up to that reputation. I was brought a pizza with a large burnt section – without a word from the waiter.

Overall, very disappointing. I just can't believe that they would think it acceptable to bring out a pizza with a charred black crust. I was hungry, and in a hurry, so I did eat some and a few slices were good.

But really – charred black pizza? I can't give this place more than one star.

“Got to try the Pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

We last night dropped into Bite of Italy for a quick supper after a wine tasting at a local vinyard.
I've eaten here before and reviewed them before.. Had never tried their pizza. They have a great selection - it is delivered as a 12 inch pie - 2 were perfect for the 4 of us - and we all agreed it was very nice - some of the best pizza we've had locally.
Staff was attentive as always - make sure to ask for the chef and ask about his newborn...
BTW this is a BYOB.

“Solid Neopolitan food”

Really good pizza, solid food all around. The chef is actually from Naples and it shows. Definitely worth a visit.

“Real Good, Very reasonable!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

Stopped here several times after spending time at Longwood Gardens and some local wineries. Every visit and meal has been great! The food is delicious, the wait staff are on thier "A" game and the value is tremendous. This place does not look like much from its exterior (in a strip mall) but the inside is nice, clean and comfortable.
I will go back again and again!

“Another BYOB gem along Baltimore Pike”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

We've been enjoying FLOGA for many years. Bite of Italy is newer, just across Baltimore Pike, in yet another grocery store shopping center where you wonder if you could possibly get a decent meal.

For Bite of Italy, the answer is a resounding YES! They have great lunch specials -- $10 for a dizzying choice of any two salads, sandwiches, or pizzas, and you'll most likely take some of it home for tomorrow.

We had dinner there tonight for the first time, and each of us had a different dish that was very tasty. Salmon wrapped in phyllo; lump crab in garlic olive oil sauce over fettucine; veal saltimbucca; and zuppa di mare. We were all very pleased with our choices. All were served piping hot. For $3, we each added a Caesar salad that was delicious and more than ample. Rolls were served before the salad, with olive oil for dipping, and they were excellent.

The waiter was friendly and attentive but recognized we wanted to chat a while before ordering. He definitely knew the menu, and was helpful as we made our decisions. The place was not at all crowded, so there was no sense that we needed to rush through the meal.

Saved the best for last: Bite of Italy is BYOB, so we brought our own wine. That kept the total cost of the meal for four at around $100 before tip. For very good Italian (and two of us have leftovers for lunch tomorrow), we think that's a very reasonable price. It's not traditional red gravy spaghetti and meatballs -- though that's on the menu, too, along with ravioli and lasagne and parmesan, and several other pasta dishes, in the low teen$. Someday we'll go and order from that section of the menu and the bill will be $60 or so.

Highly recommended. We're not going to cut down on our visits to Floga, which is also a wonderful BYOB. We're just going to start eating Italian a little more often!
