Owner Ahmed made us feel like his guest. I loved the five mushroom appetizer with a poached egg. The zucchini pate was gratis and yummy. We would definitely return.

In Kennett Sq. for the night and found this spot in the center of Kennett Square. The starter was a zucchini hummus which was excellent which we followed with several mushroom dishes being in the mushroom capital of the US. The owner, Ahmed, enlightened us with the Tunisian background of the restaurant. Worth a visit for an interesting bistro style dinner.

This was our first meal at Byrsa Bistro and we were very pleased. The space was totally renovated and very attractively decorated. The servers were very good, attentive, and efficient. The owner circulated through the dining room throughout dinner and was very pleasant and engaging. I had the grilled calamari, the beef salad, and the lamb shank. All were excellent. My wife got the Cyprus salad and the Toulouse Cassoulet. These were also excellent, though the salad dressing could have used a little more punch. The portions were large -- we had leftovers to take home. We will definitely be returning soon!

Last time we were here we rated Byrsa Bistro "very good". This time it was "excellent". My husband made last minute reservations on NYE as we had no plans due to an illness We wanted decent local food without the overpriced NYE hype and we got that and much more at Byrsa. We were welcomed by cheerful smiles and seated and greeted immediately. Out waitress took note we weren't in a huge rush and respected that. Our appetizers of Mediterranean veggies was incredible. We don't even eat artichokes....but we will now. We even got the owner to share a few secrets with us. No surprise he is passionate about properly cooking excellent food. Salads came and no surprise they too were great and not drenched in fatty dressings. The owner told my husband more about the Toulouse he was eyeing up and it exceeded expectations. I was a little disappointed about no chocolate being offered for dessert however when my poached pear arrived I was soooo glad I tried something new. It too was awesome. We can't wait for the next time we eat here!
