This hidden away gem is nestled in the middle of a small town that if you blink for too long you'd miss. If you know the movie "Like Water For Chocolate," you'll understand the sentiment I am about to express. The chef loves what she does and puts that love into her cooking and you can taste it. The fare is mostly german but you can find other things on the menu as well. We went the first night for a light meal and after seeing what was coming out of the kitchen returned the next day for the hearty german dishes. Scrumptious, cooked to perfection, flavorful and full of love. A sweet homey atmosphere added to the experience. If you are in the area go and go hungry!

My wife and I saw ads for Stony Run Inn and Grill and decided to check it out. We were a little skeptical about the place at first because the outside looks like an abandoned hotel. They need to remodel the outside or just clean all those toys and random stuff up. Besides the exterior appearance, the food was incredible!! It took a little while to come out, but you can tell that it is made fresh and per order! IT IS WORTH WAITING!!! Cheers to the chef! Service was excellent too; our waitress was a very happy young lady with an accent that made the food sound better. We will definitely be back and we will highly recommend this place to others.

I am one of the prep cooks, having worked at the Stony run for almost 3 years. With Lisa (one of the owners) now at my side I can tell you what an outstanding job she is doing. We have never "slammed" as we are slamming now. Growing pains for sure, but I am thrilled and impressed with how she has handled the new intensity of our kitchen. Our servers only want the service to be spot-on and patience will be required from our guests. We are worth the drive AND the wait for anyone wanting to enjoy authentic Austrian/German food. Always, Karen G.

We arrived on Sat evening, no reservation, they were busy and the waiter was running back and forth and back and forth and back and forth, each time passing our table. Ordered dinner, and a beer. Drank beer, beer empty .... the waiter was running back and forth and back and forth and back and forth, each time passing our table.... I finally asked him for a second beer, he obliged. Heard from Kitchen, we are out of salad, we are out of bread. On a Saturday night? Drank second beer, no bread, no nothing. Waiter brings third beer.. 25-35 minutes have gone by, we started laughing with the next table about how sloooooo the service for food was. Finish third beer and some warm dried out bread is dropped off at table (after sitting there for ~30 minutes)...Bread appears to be a an italian hoagie bun cut in half. Guess it is better than nothing.
Dinner arrived and was very good, warm and well prepared.
If they get the food inventory down, and learn to provide some kind of appetizer while you wait wait wait for the food, it will be a place to go back to.
I am going to give them 6 months to get more organized and try again.
Good luck to them, they seem like they are trying to do things right.

We live nearby and frequent this wonderful place often. With the change of owners the atmosphere and aesthetics are a huge improvement. The food as usual was spot on and nothing compares as far as authentic German cuisine within miles. The service was fine the night we went. However, since they've hired new help and are getting accustomed to the onslaught of people trying to see the new place, its going to take some time to get everyone up to speed and get used to the place being so busy all the time (it was not before). We love this place and can't wait for more spaetzle and chicken paprikash!
