While driving west in Pennsylvania we decided to investigate several wineries. Stony Run was not on the map we had; we actually learned about it at another winery. We were told that if we liked dry wines we should make the trip there. It really was not far out of our way at all and we are so glad we went. This is not a huge winery like some of the others we have visited. The view from the property is breathtaking. The winery is A+ too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did not feel rushed at all. Every wine sampled was wonderful and we found it difficult to choose which to purchase. Some of the wines we fell in love with were the sparkling, Chambourcin classic , Albariño and Gruner Veltliner.

Set in a beautiful area in Kempton, overlooking the vineyard and fields with hills in the background, relaxing place to sample some of their wines or grab a bottle and enjoy it outside. Tastings are $5 per person, and we sampled quite a few wines. However, we were not overly impressed with the wines. Some tasted a tad watered down. Overall, the atmosphere was very pleasant, friendly hosts and you can bring your own food to enjoy outside.

The wine made here is simply wonderful. Just bought the last cases of the 2018 Chardonnay as my wife loved it so much. We drive 100+ miles and worth every bit of the drive. Lots more to do in the area. Will be back again.

Out with friends for a day of visiting wineries in the Lehigh Valley. While looking up hours and directions for our trip, I found Stony Run on the map and checked out the website for information as I had never heard of it before. Decided that if we were in the area we can try to find the place and try it. Made our way to Stony Run, beautiful land filled with many vines on the top of a hill overlooking the mountains and valleys. Buildings around property look beautiful, all stone, and well maintained. Small patio with a few tables/umbrellas to enjoy a snack or glass of wine. Walked into garage like structure where the tanks are housed to enjoy a tasting. $5 for six samples (plus we got to keep the stemless glass) from a very extensive list. Spoke with our pourer and he is from Argentina and was telling us about the grapes and harvest and how the grapes being used for the current wine are from 2016 harvest and the tasting room is only a month old! Everything we tried we liked, some wines stood out more than others (Albarino, Viognier, Petit Verdot, and Flagship Red to name a few) and overall pleasantly surprised at how wonderful everything was! Everyone was very nice and personable, the tasting area is small so be patient if there are a few other people waiting/tasting. Definitely will come back to see what Stony Run has in store in the coming months/years!
