“A bit of history”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

This is by far one of the best scenes of Johnstown. It has an overview of the town and gives some of the history of the Johnstown Flood. Their is a lot of history at the bottom of the Inclined Plane meaning Johnstown and also at the top which is Yoders Hill. I think that the Inclined Plane should be tied in the the Park Service which does alot with the Dam Site and the Flood Museum. There is a small fee to ride the incline but worth it, also you can ride with your vehicle to the top or bottom. And it has a gift shop at the top and a restaurant just a few steps away.
It is known as the World Steepest Vehicular Incline Plane.

“A fun side trip”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

We were in the area visiting various attractions. Given our interest in all things train, we had to take a ride up on the Inclined Plane. It's steep, fast and very smooth. You can even take your car up. At the top, you can check out the engine house through a window in the souvenir shop. Once you at are at the top, you can climb a little further to a large open park area that has a decent sized playground on one side.

The Inclined Plane attendants were pleasant and the fare not exorbitant. While it's not something you'd go out of your way to visit, if you are in the area, it's worth the detour.

“Great view of Johnstown, Pa”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

Were there on Memorial Day and there was no charge to ride. We had seen many years ago and while a short ride, it is worth doing. Great view of city of Johnstown.

“Inclined to Visit the Johnstown Inclined Plane!”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

If you're a visitor to Johnstown, be it for a conference, Thunder in the Valley, Polkafest, AAABA, the Flood City Music Festival, or just passing through, take the time to ride the Inclined Plane. It's one of the steepest in the world, it's inexpensive, and you AND your car/motorcycle can take the ride as well. Once you get to the top, there's a very nice restaurant, ice cream stand, gift shop, informational displays and a scenic lookout.

“WOW”

The Johnstown Incline Plane is a must do. I go up the incline once a year and enjoy the ride each time. You need to go in different seasons to see the different views of the city.
