“Maybe not the best choice”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

I stayed at the Twin Pines in August on a road trip from Sydney to Brisbane. Arriving in Yamba late in the afternoon, I tried to use my phone and Google+Trip Advisor to find my best accommodation option. I might try harder next time.

The Twin Pines is a standard enough motel. I thought it clean and tidy. My room had direct access to the pool - in summer that would have been nice (though possibly *too* close?), but not much of an issue in August. Do make sure the poolside door is locked when you leave the room.

The welcome at Reception was helpful and kind. I didn't have much time to see the town before sundown, but got a useful run-down of where to walk to see the sights. It is a little walk around to the beaches, and a big climb up to the clifftop, but nothing unpleasant. Likewise, it's a short walk into the main shopping and eating area.

Yamba in August closes early! I wasn't hungry at 6.30pm, but by 9pm everything (and I do mean everything) was closed. In this quiet town at the end of a peninsula I therefore expected a quiet night, but somehow there was a huge amount of road noise that did disturb my sleep a little. I never really fathomed why this was - the motel may be on the main road in to Yamba, but there wasn't a whole lot going on!

Stayed one night at this motel, found it well located, clean and well presented with good facilities. On checking in we asked for the best rest, were offered a seniors rate of $99 for a double , "normal rate being $109".
On returning home we found on their site and wotif.com the rate was $85 for a queen double.
We feel ripped off and would have recommended this motel but do not like being deceived!

As a constant traveller for 5 years, Twin Pines by far is the worst Motel i have visited. Im completely turned off Yamba because of their venue, the rooms were ok, not the cleanest or very comfortable. But the MANNERS and attitude of the Motel Owners was discraceful. They charged an extra $60 dollars because a bed got slept in that wasnt ordered, why is it in there? They informed us we couldnt have friends or family visit us becuase we would make noise. They sent cleaners in our room when we we requested we wouodnt need them, all they did was make a bed!?!? For the amount of money they charged us for two nights i would have expected alot more. Even a little manners wouldnt have hurt. I do not reccomend them at all. ! Yamba Sun just up the road is where my family stayed, i recomend them, as they are the complete opposite!

Room Tip: Dont stay here......

Room was clean and plenty of room for family of 4. walking distance to main sts of Yamba. All the basics one needs for a couple of nights stay. Check-in easy. had no prob with getting wi-fi on our phones. The housekeeping thought we were checking after first day to clean the place so I said no and really didn't need a service but when we came back after our day out the lovely lady HAD made our beds and serviced to bathroom.Very nice touch! It was quiet considering it was on the main road. Overall, very good motel to stay in.

Room Tip: We had Rm 2 and that was more than quiet enough.

Very friendly owners and the wifi was the fastest I've ever seen in a hotel. Normally it takes forever to download but this was lightning fast. Room was very spacious and could sleep 4 easily. mini kitchen was ideal to cook toast or heat in microwave. Bathroom clean. Very impressed
