I was surprised with a trip to this absolutely delightful bed and breakfast's murder mystery weekend. It was a wonderful experience. The house is in beautiful repair and the people who run the joint are top notch. The environs are nature is full splendor. The only negative is food in the area doesn't yield a lot of option, not unexpected in such a small town. The eats at the mansion make up for it. The room, Annie's Suite, which includes a sitting room and whirlpool bathtub was perfect for relaxing. I wish I could have taken the bed home with me! I can not describe the fantastic service by such wonderful people. And the murder was riotous fun. It was the mystery entitled "The L revision." I have wanted to do one of these for many years. This exceeded any expectations. The man running the mystery gives great information on the real people and circumstances that inspire the fake case. I plan to go back!

Room Tip: Reserve in advance.

So, my girlfriend and I needed to go away between her birthday and my finishing a big job, and we took a chance on the Murder Mansion. What can I say? The owners, Bob and Pat, were not only very accomodating but also very pleasant people. Bob hosts the murder mystery weekend package, which entails all the guests sitting in a room in this lavishly restored Victorian Mantion and ribbing on each other while in character. Taylor and Kristen run the "Libations Lounge," which makes relaxing with a drink (or becoming more festive with the mystery) a plus.

Big tip: When driving in to the Mansion, use the second entrance, which leads directly into the parking lot. It's not only the right way to go, but makes parking your car way easier.

Jim Thorpe itself is a nice town to bop around in for the day, but I preferred to kick back in the Mansion with a book and a nice glass of Johnnie Walker. This is highly recommended, and we'll both be going back in the next year or so.

Murder weekend was awesome. If that's not your thing go for the Victorian experience. Great family run place. Recommending this to everyone I know.

If you love old homes, Small towns, and good food - go to the Harry Packer Mansion. Jim thorpe is quite the eccentric place and the Harry Packer shares the highlights of downtown with its sister - the Asa Packer Mansion. While this home is well over 100 years old - everything was kept meticulously clean and the food was always hot and fresh. Your hosts are never too busy to help you find what you need - both in and out of the mansion and their veranda is the perfect place to enjoy a nice glass of wine and the sunset. If you are coming to the Pocono mountains and want a true travel experience - you have found the right place.

Room Tip: Harry's suite was great...

I went with a group of a dozen friends and was the organizer of the event. Having never stayed there prior, naturally I was worried about everything. The moment I arrived, my worries were alleviated. The mansion itself is stunning and the view of the town is just breathtaking. The team running the mansion (and the murder mystery in our case) did an amazing job of making us feel comfortable and welcome. Libations Lounge was a great treat with an excellent selection of beer, wine and liquor. The meals included in our package were very tasty and the Murder Mystery story itself is highly entertaining.

I stayed in Harry's Suite, which was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. I'd highly recommend nabbing one of the suites!!!

Room Tip: Book early and grab one of the suites!

The Harry Packer Mansion is just a beautiful place! Bob, Pat, Taylor, Kristen (and Tiger too!) made us feel right at home when we arrived. The accomodations were very comfortable and clean. We stayed in "Gussie's" room which was large and well appointed. The suites in the mansion are spectacular; that's where I want to be next time! Food and drinks were excellent.
The Murder Mystery was a blast! I've never laughed so hard in my life! All around, this was a great weekend at a great value. I think this will have to be a yearly retreat for our group of friends. We'll be back! (Get Ready!)
