“Worth considering for a leisurely, casual meal”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

We enjoyed a leisurely, tasty lunch on the porch. It lasted about an hour. There were two pleasant, attentive wait staff on duty, so that may have addressed some of the speed issues described by other reviewers.

We both had a southwestern chicken wrap, one of the day's specials, and enjoyed it. The menu offers a good variety of sandwiches, salads, pizzas, plus entrees like fish and steak. Prices are reasonable.

If we're in Jim Thorpe again, we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

“Good food and slow service”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

While walking through Jim Thorpe we passed this restaurant and saw they were serving huge sandwiches, which looked very tasty. Also the smell outside the restaurant we very appealling. After going to the train ride, we came back to the restaurant expecting to enjoy those sandwiches. Afther bringing our drinks and taking our orders, the waiter never checked back on us and it took 40 minutes to bring our food. At that time the restaurant was empty. We only got refills on our drinks when we were almost leaving. I think the restaurant is very good, but the service and time to serve were ver poor. In the time it took them to bring the food i started to check the reviews here in Tripadvisor and found other people also complain of slow service.

“Pathetic Excuse for a Restaurant: Filthy Place, Incompetent Staff”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

At first glance, this place looked charming with its nice little porch and strumming guitarist. Turned out to be one of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had.

We noticed it wasn't busy (while the other places in town were packed -- first clue that something was wrong, obviously) when we walked in, but we were relieved we could get a seat.

We sat down and were ignored by the frazzled waitress for about 10 minutes and she finally took our drink order. We sat. And sat some more.

While we were sitting, waiting for our simple drink order (at least 20 minutes), we started to notice the filth in this place. It needs a good scrubbing and the building, frankly, for being such a potentially nice structure, it's in dire need of repair.

After another 10 minutes, and watching everyone around us waiting for their food, complaining to each other that their meals were taking an hour, and listening to the female owner/cook blabber away at some customers instead of getting the food out, we decided we had had enough.

We paid for our drinks and left, strolling down the street behind the property. The back of the restaurant was even worse than the front --what a mess, the place is falling apart. So glad we didn't stay to eat. Gag.

The health inspector needs to pay some attention to this place and the owners need to realize they should not be in the restaurant business. And I'm sure the town would be glad if they fixed up their rotting house, too.

“Good food, good value, tacky ambiance”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

The food was tasty and well prepared, the price for two of us with appetizers was under $55. The woman serving was doing her best, but there was only one of her. It took a very long time to get our entrees, and several people who came in for ice cream were waiting a really long time. One family came in and the mom got her ice cream first, and the kids all had to wait another 20 minutes. Another couple waited a half hour for their ice cream in a dish. Seems like a long time for just ice cream? The tackiness of the decor and the cleanliness was questionable. But nice people work there and the food was good. We didn't have dessert, but the homemade coconut cake looked really good and the ice cream eaters seemed really happy!
