arrive at Rosemary's home to a very warm welcome. we've been introduced to the locks, dining, living area. we arrived in the kitchen where she gently picks our brains a little while and realizes we're interested in browsing the shops vs outdoor sporting or historical touring. she now takes out the local tourism magazine, opens it to walking map and shows us where all the great stuff is :).

we're shown to our room at the top of the stairs. wow. P.E.R.F.E.C.T. very clean, very cozy and pretty. amazing bed. very modern bathroom. several little personal touches, this lady loves her home. she goes off to her planned activitity and off we go to follow her advice around town.

so, breakfast at 9 a.m. - fruit with yogurt, coffee, tea, orange juice, buckwheat pancakes with blue (and other) berries in them, applesause on top with a blue berry garnish. the table is set with lovely antique pieces, some of which have been in her family for generations.

Room Tip: The room we had was a double bed, which was perfect for us. Rosemary told me there is a king size r...

Rosemary, the proprietor, is a gracious hostess. She is a plethora of information when it comes to touring the quaint town of Jim Thorpe. We walked around the historic downtown, admiring the uniques shoppes, mingling with the friendly folks, and listening to a brass band in the town's "square." It was a great weekend getaway. We plan to return!

Room Tip: I would recommend the "Angel Room" because it has a more "suite" feel to it.

Jim Thorpe is a quaint little historically restored coal town nestled in the mountains with great little shops and restaurants. There are plenty of things to do which made it the perfect weekend get away. We stayed at Angel of the Morning B&B and were very pleased with the accomidations! It was super clean and very comfy. We also liked the fact that it is located a short distance away from the downtown area enabling us to avoid any traffic or parking issues if we so desired. The owner made a delicious full breakfast every morning, she was very knowledgable about the area and helped us with plans and directions. Overall our trip was a great success and we would highly recommend the Angel of the Morning B&B!

Room Tip: Each room has a private bath/shower. I believe the Anthricite and Angel rooms are the biggest.

My husband and I just returned from a weekend in Jim Thorpe, PA to celebrate our anniversary and stayed at the Angel of the Morning Bed and Breakfast. Rosemary was a wonderful hostess with great hospitality. She really made you feel like one of the family. We stayed in the Angel Suite which was spacious yet cozy and was more than we could have asked for. The breakfast each morning was delicious and real home cooking. While it's not in the middle of town, it only takes a two minute drive to get into town, and it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of things this time of year. We would definitely come back!

At home, after crossing the ocean from France. A real home away home. Rosemary and her warm welcome and great breakfast. The room was great. If you are looking for wonderful human contacts, you have found the place.

Excellente chambre et petit déjeuner formidable chez Rosemary. On se croirait à la maison, si loin de chez soi.

This review is a bit belated. We were travelling through PA last summer and stayed at this B&B for one night. The B&B was not downtown but that didn't matter to us as we had a motorcycle to tour around. Jim Thorpe is not what it used to be, many shops closed down and the area seems to be hard hit by the recession of 2009-2010.
Parking was a problem for us as there was a gravel uneven driveway with a huge curb to mount. Difficult for a bike.
The room was fine, clean and quiet, nothing to write home about.
The hostess offered tea in the afternoon and was very friendly.
We didn't stay for the breakfast- too many rules and times to follow, and we had to get on the road by 8 am. Perhaps the hostess ought to be a bit more flexible with her guests' schedules. We felt like we were being treated like grandchildren.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Angel of the Morning B&B while doing at rafting trip at Jim Thorpe River Adventures. It was the perfect place to stay and a good value especially after comparing prices of places on Broadway Street. We loved that it was right outside of the main downtown streets, but only 3-4 min drive away. The rafting company we went through was only like 1 min away too so that was very convenient. The Glen Onoko Falls trail is just 2 mins away as well and a really great hike! Rosemary tells you exactly how to get there. It is difficult in some spots, but definitely worth doing especially since the B&B is so close.
The house itself was charming and immaculate. The keyless door was very convenient too so we could just come and go as we pleased and didn't bother anyone. Rosemary is such a great hostess and we instantly felt comfortable. She welcomes you in and gives you a map of the town and tells you all the best shops to stop in (including a shop with free wine tasting and right next door award winning pickles) as well as the best restaurants. She has the menu's for each place so you can decide exactly which one suits you best. We went to a little Italian place the first night that was great and reasonably priced and then to a pizza place right on the same street as the B&B that was really some of the best pizza we've had. Rosemary is very accommodating and encouraged us to call her whenever we wanted to ask for advice or directions. Another plus is that there is always fresh and perfectly baked cookies in the living room for guests to enjoy.
We stayed in the anthracite room with a king bed which could possibly be the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I slept very well each night. Each room has a private bath with plenty towels and a bar of soap. You do need to bring your own shampoo/conditioner though. It was too hot when I went to take a bath but the tub does have Jacuzzi jets and bath salts for you to use. The room also had an individual air conditioner that you could adjust, a ceiling fan, and a TV with a couple channels. It's not a full cable TV but it had enough that you could always find something on at night to fall asleep to if that's how you like to end your night. There is also free wifi.
Breakfast is served every morning promptly at 9 and everyone eats together. Each day the breakfast was delicious, varied, and filling with great coffee, juice, and fresh fruit and yogurt in addition to the main meal. The first day we had wheat blueberry pancakes -yummmm- with bacon and the next morning we had a veggie frittata and hash browns with turkey sausage. It was nice eating with the other guests and learning about their trips as well. You can also take your coffee on the front porch and just sit on the bench swing and enjoy the morning.
Overall it was a great experience and if we go back to do more rafting or kayaking we will definitely be staying here. Thank you for such a great time Rosemary! Ryan and I are trying to figure out a time that will work for return trip but wanted to let you know how helpful you were to us!
