This mansion which dates from 1861 and is virtually intact with 95 percent of the original furnishings and seems like the Packers have just left. Well worth a visit for a nominal fee with a well informed guide. Our was a young guy named Paul. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TOUR IS NOT HANDICAP FRIENDLY.

My husband and I wanted to tour the Mansion in May 2014 but it was not open to the public except on weekends until after Memorial Day.

We enjoyed the history of the Packer family and to better appreciate Jim Thorpe understanding the role of the Packer family is helpful. The home itself and its contents are original. This is well worth a visit.

Very interesting to see the authentic furnishings in this home, would have been nice to take pictures to show friends, but no photos allowed, but you can buy them.
