My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary (yesterday 23/05) with a trip not so far from home. It felt like we were in another part of the country and couldn't have asked for more.

We were both in shock when we entered our cabin. The photos did not do it justice. The cabin is very well set out and has everything you need. Everything!
We had everything needed to put together a family roast to a simple BBQ. Through email correspondence with Simon he made us feel very welcomed. Even to the point where he made the following comment.
......"You can cook anything from a toasted sandwich to a lamb roast (if Tom cruise is unavailable I will come round)".

Outstanding Hospitality there Simon!!

There was ample wood to stock our fireplace and the spa was even set prior to our arrival. I cannot begin to explain how good the spa under the stars was. Absolutely amazing.

The separate bathroom was great and didn't make it feel like a simple hotel room. Our robes were very comfy and the bed was so soft! We fell asleep in minutes.

If you can't go without mobile reception I don't know what to say, other than forget it! Just relax. If you have withdrawals, there is mobile reception at the start of the property (main road) but not to fear......The cabins have phones. Hey, you're away to get away right?

We will definitely be back again (soon I hope) and even though our stay was short, we felt completely relaxed.

Thank you for your hospitality,

J&L See.

Weekends away to the Hunter Valley left you with 'average memories'? We had many particularly in the Polkobin/Cessnock area. Then we discovered Mystwood, just outside of Wollombi, and our whole perspective on time spent in the Hunter changed.
Mystwood is bliss. Not backpacker-budget bliss, but not 5-star luxury bliss either. For us, it's home-away-from-home, and the reason why we've been there 10+ times.
The location - look at the photos on this site - tells part of the story. But the cabin interiors (not captured in the photos on this site), and the service tell the other half. Beautifully appointed, each with fireplace and the most comfortable king-size bed you've ever slept in, the cabin interiors make it all worthwhile. Which is to take nothing away from Colin, his wife, and Stella - the most beautiful dog, who manages to share her busy schedule between 5 cabins.
We cannot recommend this place enough. Read the reviews and try it. You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Of the five cabins, only one has two bedrooms

Mystwood in Wollombi is our new home away from home.
From the moment we made the booking to the time of leaving we were taken such good care of.
This is the perfect place to get away from the busy life and enjoy what nature has to offer.
The outdoor jacuzzi was fabulous. The cabin was very clean and the service we received from Colin and his family was beyond anything I could have expected.
We received a lovely BBQ hamper on our first night and were also provided with bacon and eggs and fresh bread so we could cook up a storm for breakfast every morning.
My partner loved the outdoor BBQ not just for the obvious reasons but because of the scenic view.
On a second night we had a Thai banquet.. I am a huge Thai fan and have tried a large majority of Sydney Thai restaurants and this would have to be up there with best.
Mystwood provided us with a full day on the wollombi wine trail which was an unforgettable day.
Stella the resident dog was the icing on the cake If you are an animal lover. She is the smartest dog and will show you around the resort just like a tour guide.
If you are looking for one of a kind service then look no further, but be warned that you will fall in love and never want to leave. :) we will definitely be back as soon as possible.

Wow - this place was definitely the right choice. I was only really going on their website and pictures when I booked our two-night stay and I'm so glad I did. If you're looking to have a romantic and quiet holiday then this is your place. There is no mobile reception so no distractions! The bed was extremely comfortable and the outdoor spa wonderfully relaxing. The small kitchen has everything you need and the shower was lovely, including the complimentary shampoo and conditioner. We had the BBQ pack on our first night and it was just the thing after a long day of wine tasting! Wollombi is fast becoming one of my favourite places to visit. I would definitely go back to Mystwood again.

Perfect weekend getaway
1. bushwalking
2. privacy
3. awesome breakfast
4. fantastic wine tour
5. star gazing with a champagne in the jacuzzi

So incredibly romantic we just had to get engaged!!!

Comes highly recommended - reasonable prices, beautiful accommodation and friendly but respectful (for privacy) service. We will definately come back.

Almost hesitant to write this review as we'd love to keep this luscious secret to ourselves!

This was our second stay here. We stayed for 4 nights in July. We love the place! Everything about it is perfect! Colin is the perfect host, very accommodating and happy to please. They have thought of everything in the cabins. Very good value for money. Beautiful soft towel, excellent bed linen and comftable bed. Great kitchen with every thing you need to cook up a meal. Love the breakfast hamper, fresh sourdough bread made just for you! Truly a relaxing place to stay. Beautiful wildlife and so quiet. Very relaxing sitting in the outdoor spa looking at the stars with a yummy glass of wine and the log fire to keep the cabin cosy. We never wanted to leave!

Mystwood was a trully great getaway!

The cabin was spacious and clean. There was a front veranah with a bbq and outdoor table and chairs looking out over the fields. Out the in the private back area was the lovely heated spa and two loungers.

Inside the bathroom had a bath tub, spacious shower, fluffy white towels and even bath robes!

The kitchen had everything we needed including all utensils, microwave, cook top, crockery and cutlery. We even had a hamper which included local eggs.

The living/dining area had a table and chairs, air con, wood fire, sofa, tv, dvd player and ipod dock.

The bedroom was spacious with plenty of room around the kingsize bed.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the birds, stars, family dog and sunshine!
