“A long way to travel for a brilliant breakfast”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

Each time my wife and I visit the Hunter Valley, we exit the freeway early to drive through Wollombi. The purpose of this detour is Cafe Wollombi. Simply put:

Coffee = Brilliant.
Service = Brilliant.
Food = Brilliant.
Ambiance = Brilliant.

“Late Friday Lunch”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

A late Friday lunch (2:15pm, late August 2012)
A good menu with interesting blackboard specials. My wife was offered a gluten free bread, with no Soy, which was very tasty and full grains as part of her meal. Mine was a tasty lemon couscous chicken.
The food was excellent and the serves more than sufficient.
Good milk shakes and coffee, well made and great flavour.
Altogether, with the rustic building, the polite and unobtrusive service the quiet surrounds in the village a great place to eat!!

“View, value, verisimilitude.”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

Excellent service by friendly but unintrusive staff. Extremely good value with a wide variety of skilfully conceived dishes prepared using fresh ingredients. Plenty of options for vegetarians. Great place to relax and enjoy the food and ambience after a scenic drive.

The Cafe Wollombi is the real deal. It punches well above its weight, sending many of its pretentious rivals reeling to the canvas!

“Delicious!”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

We originally planned to go to Panino but it is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so we decided to give Cafe Wollombi a go. We got a lovely spot on the sunny front balcony. The scones and nachos looked delicious but we both decided to go for the pasta. They were both delicious but go for the chilli prawn! It was light, fresh and just the right amount of chilli. Delicious! The chicken pesto pasta was nice too but rather heavy and creamy. The service was good - they even brought out a piece of cake as I requested for my partners birthday with the addition of a lit candle which was nice. It was the sticky date cake with toffee sauce and ice cream - amazing! Definitely try it.
