“Very good!”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Have just had two nights at the Palms and found it to be very good. The room was very clean, the queen bed very comfortable, reception staff very friendly and overall a very pleasant experience! Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Opposite RSL club, downstairs rooms have parking right outside room door.

We recently stayed at the Palms, we had five rooms and were relieved to find the motel under new management. congratulations to the new management ! the rooms were clean, the reception was friendly and accomadating. The breakfasts were on time, value for money and beautiful. We will return.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms were great

We stayed here for one night on our trip south. We found the new owner(s) to be very helpful and they are making a real effort to improve the motel (new painting going on etc). The room and Queen Bed we had were very clean and comfortable and because it is off the Newell Highway, it was quiet. The owner suggested a place for us to have dinner that night and again, her advice proved to be very good. Yes, the parking spaces are tight but they were not really a problem.
It is not a 5 star motel that is for sure, but please don't be put off by the earlier postings on trip advisor. Give the new owners a chance to improve the place which obviously was pretty neglected by the previous owners/managers.

This place is very well located BUT. The rooms are quite spartan, parking is tight and the management don't appear to care for anything but to take your money. Okay for the one night if you just want to kip and move on but not the place for much else.

Room Tip: There is better in town.

Never again!! I knew it was all down hill right from the moment I entered the reception area, it smelt like dogs and cats, there was animal fur all around the floor, the curtains were hanging on the floor, the office was dirty. The managers were not friendly at all. The grounds of the motel reflected how un-cared for the whole complex is. It's not hard to sweep and tidy up. The room was very dark, dingy and tied. I had a problem with getting the air conditioner to work, when I went to ask the manager if there was something I was not doing right he was most put out to have to come to our room to help. People with this kind of attitude should not go into service industry jobs!! If we weren't so tied after travelling all day we would have just walked out, couldn't wait to get out of there the next morning

We were very tired after travelling from Mildura, so booked into the 1st motel sited. On entering room we were greeted by grubby carpet, dirty single loung chair & a very large dog barking outside our ensuite. When I opened the ensuite window to see where the barking was coming from. (ie. next door or on motel land), this dog jumped up with it's feet on the window sill & continued barking in my face so I guess it is owned by the owners of motel. I am not exagerating by saying there was at least 2 weeks of dog droppings outside my ensuite window, NOT NICE! The ceiling in the ensuite was very badly water damaged (bad leak from upstairs unit I would say) & the exhaust fan was filthy. The freezer in the fridge was at least 3-4 inches thick with ice. This motel needs a lot of TLC & with continuing maintenance could be a very nice motel! Near RSL & Pub on corner & Main St.

Room Tip: Can't give one
