Visited 4 years ago , then it was under local council and looking a bit sorry. It is now under new owners, and slowly being restored .
There is a lot of history to be learned here, ie, the steam train , and the working bullocks were amazing
the yarns the bullocky told , the training that goes into these animals , and the respect and care given to them is worth the visit alone
It really is a must for our young to hear and see what used to be very worth while

We arrived within 10 inutes of the park opening for the day. We were greeted on out walk through town and one employee rode the penny farthing bke down the main street. We rode the horse carriage, steam train and mini railway. We ound the cross saw demonstration, bullock demonstration, whip crack and blacksmith demonstrations fantastic. Lunch was nice from the restaurant. I agree that there are many opportunities for the park owners. We had a Brilliiant Day, learned heaps and laughed lots.

I had visited this attraction many years ago, when my children were young and enjoyed it. However a visit made last week was a letdown. We found it tired, lacking in freshness, vitality and excitement. They could take a lesson in total engagement and sheer entertainment with a visit to Sovereign Hill in Victoria!

This is a fantastic little place that really needs a bit of money pumped into it to make it really pop. My little fellas are farm kids and they enjoyed it, in particular the bullocks. The bloke running this show is a dry character but knows his stuff and was truly memorable for all the right reasons. You could sit there and listen to him all day. The blacksmith took the time to show the kids exactly what he was doing to make items. And the food, although very basic was reasonably priced and nice.

I thought that Timbertown was fabulous, with the entry price came tickets to ride the steam train, the horse and cart and the miniature railway. My son absolutely enjoyed all of these activities. He fed the ducks and enjoyed and ice cream, and a lolly pop from the confectioners and we all enjoyed a roast beef and gravy roll from the restaurant. I didnt find the $7.50 cost of the roll expensive at all as it was huge and tasted wonderful. The bullock demonstration was amazing and my son is still talking about it. The blacksmith was really funny and great with the kids and showed them how branding irons work and even offered to brand them for free!!! The children werer not to keen on that though. The whip cracking demonstration was hands on and everyone got to have a go which was another highlight. We spent four hours there and thought it was a great day to spend together. Could it do with a bit more? Probably, but it was enjoyable non the less.
