I had some visitors up from Sydney last week and we all felt like a nice and easy affordable pizza and I had heard from some friends about the newly renovated Mangrove Restaurant in West Tweed. To put it simply - the pizza was amazing! Best pizza I have had in a very very long time. Traditional thin bases with a wide range of fresh toppings to choose from. We had the Gamberi (my favourite), the Potato & Rosemary (yummy) and a delicious Mediterranean style with artichokes, olives etc and again very tasty. We also ordered the roasted vegie salad which came with feta and crunchy pine nuts, an added bonus in my eyes.

The staff and service was efficient, friendly and upbeat and I would recommend to anyone who is in the mood for a casual lunch or dinner with quality produce and dishes. I will definitely be returning the Mangrove.

Great service by the wait staff once they were made aware of issues, but the food was pitiful.

I dined at this restaurant as a party of 6, each meal came out at a a different time. My meal which was a serving of lamb cutlets came out first. While waiting for the rest of the meals to be served to the table, 8 minutes from when the first plate to when the last plate was served, my meal obviously began to go cold. On cutting into my first cutlet, blood oozed from the cutlet onto the plate. A passing waitress noticed this and took my plate away from the table. Shortly thereafter, a the waitress came back to the table and told me "The chef said that's how lamb cutlets are meant to be cooked" and then walked away. Another person at my table also had lamb cutlets and theirs was cooked perfectly without any blood oozing onto their plate as they cut into it. The restaurant manager has then come to the table sincerely apologising and offered to recook my meal which I finally agreed too even after feeling as nauseas as I had from what had happened the first time around.

Well after the rest of my table finished their meals, my replacement meal was served. This time around the cutlets were cooked and the presentation was great... but the size of the cutlets were woeful. I think my thumb was wider than each of them. None the less, I'd consumed my meal in 5 minutes and my party then left the venue.

I must say that I was impressed with the service provided to me by the restaurant manager. She appeared to be genuine and sincere in her dealing with me, I don't believe I thanked her at the time.
