“Pelican Feeding Point”

The Entrance Heritage Walk
Reviewed October 27, 2013

This was the second time I watched the feeding show. But it was equally interesting to me to watch again the show. It is at 3:30 pm daily. When I went there, NSW just switched to the 'summer hours' that day. So the pelican might not be aware of the change and some arrived very early. There appeared to be some kind of order for they to queue up and if some, might be too ancious to get a better position would cause quarrels. We took many close photos and the experience was unique and exciting.

Very easy walk on distinct path - great for either slow walk and enjoy the view, or power walk for the exercise.

Great scenic walk with beautiful coastal views. Very leisurely with lots of information on the way. We were there over the Easter Weekend and with the "Mini Easter Show" happening in Memorial Park and the great weather, the park and beachside were crowded but we were still able to have a stroll around the beachside markets and the restaurants. The Pelican Feeding begins at 3.30 and I suggest to get there early to get a seat by the steps. The pelicans come up out of the water and onto the edge of the steps. The feeding goes for about 30mins and the volunteers are excellent. They are very informative and to know every pelican and if they are new to the group. It is fun for everyone to watch and learn.

I live on the Central Coast and have been at most of the sights here either on business as a camerman or socially. You have this well constructed scenic walk with some of the best ocean views anywhere in Australia. Numerous coffee shops and places to have either a snack or a meal. Great park area to keep the young onnes in the family happy, an old fashioned Merry Go Round is always a hit. Lots of hotel accomodation and you are not far from another great location on the Coast called "Terrigal" now you are seeing some very outstanding coast line.
