We stayed here previously 18 months ago,and loved it. Great value, quiet, staff friendly. So we were looking forward to our stay for 7 nights special deal. Still great value for autumn special, low season. Quiet, peaceful, relaxed Monday through Thursday. Perfect. Loved it again! Good size sites, Clean en-suites. Modern. Large comfortable shower. Nice hot water. Eco-matting was quite dirty on arrival, stones, rocks, leaf litter. Disappointing, but I used broom in en-suite to sweep up. En-suite outside light was not working, but it was replaced the same day. Gate swipe key much better than a number code entry as in some parks. TV Room and Camp Kitchen very spacious and well appointed. Clean camp Kitchen. laundry also good, clean, tidy. washing machines and Dryers worked.
Unfortunately our peace and tranquility was shattered Friday afternoon when some new occupants arrived intent on partying, and talking and shouting at top of voices, and kids running around screaming till midnight. Called at 10:15pm to ask security ask to lower the noise, but occupants kept going till at least 1am - at a lower volume, but still disturbing. We did speak to management on Saturday, but the policy appears to be "consideration" after 10pm, and not quiet like many parks. Also, many more arrived on Saturday - was a large group that appeared not to understand about consideration to others. Management did say they would speak to security and keep an eye on the occupants activities and noise. management also offered another quiet powered site (not en-suite) that we could go to for Saturday night, and walk back to our en-suite for usage or use the general facilities. Quite generous offer. such a shame that we were following the park rules, but we were the ones who had to consider moving.
So, we were hoping for better Saturday night, and stayed. Unfortunately it was quite loud again, and a bit before midnight we were woken up by a screaming, blood-curdling domestic fight right outside our van and running around the area screaming. I became quite frightened, and was considering calling the police as someone seemed to be getting hurt. My partner who was also woken up explained what had happened.
For Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we spent the days out and didn't want to come back here to the park. It was so tense, we were very tense. So when Sunday came around, we were very happy to see our neighbours leave (1-2 hours over the designated exit time), and peace once again reined. Their sites had been left with rubbish on them, and some rubbish blew onto our site. More work for the staff.
We love this place during the week, but the weekend was a really bad experience. Such a pity, as this is a really great park, with great facilities and with really good staff.
