We dropped in for lunch after wandering through the main street of town. The dining room/bar area is well presented, with muted, warm colours that are very inviting. Outside the beer garden areas give views of the water, and capture the sun. Sadly though these areas are also where smokers are to be found which is disappointing. Why is it that non smokers have to sit inside these days to avoid smoke? We did sit outside as we wanted to enjoy the last days of autumn sunshine, although the smoke was less than pleasant, and some guests nearby were quite roudy. We both ordered steak sandwiches, overpriced really for the quality of the meal. No sauce or mayo was added to the sandwich and the bread was dry and tasteless. Salad on the sandwich was sliced tomato, iceberg lettuce, sliced beetroot and half melted sliced (processed) cheese. Such a shame, as the pub itself looks so good.
