“Best meal on the central coast”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

We moved from Sydney to the central coast 3 years ago and have finally found a restaurant that serves excellent food. We were suprised at how good it was, presentation taste and service couldn't be faulted. We will be going back very soon with friends who also enjoy good food.

Like some of the other comments, wish we'd found it sooner, the place should be packed. I think the outside may put a few people off, but don't let that stop you from trying what was one of the best meals we've had for a long time.

The Sydney Morning Herald guide says stunning dishes and they're right.

“Best meal we've had in ages!”
Reviewed June 23, 2012

We moved to the central coast 6 months ago and have been meaning to visit Flair for a while - we are now sorry we left it this long! Amazing food and fabulous service. Very cosy on a crisp winter's night. We shared the pork belly as an entree, then the duck and beef for mains followed by the pear fool for dessert - all delicious. We couldn't have asked for more. Already thinking about our next visit.

“Still the best in the Terrigal coast region”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

Excellent food and service that matches Sydney quality.
We come regularly and one of the challenges of any restaurant is the need to change the menu frequently.
This is still our favourite around the Terrigal region and last night's was probably the best for a while with a couple of changes to the menu.
We have the pork belly often and it is a good standby for us; the seared duck breast and beef fillet were cooked to perfection and the produce was first class.
Whilst the location and ambience do not match city restaurants, it certainly competes on other aspects of quality and service.

“Exceptional food by a small, dedicated team.”
Reviewed January 22, 2012

We live on the Central Coast and we've been meaning to try this restaurant for over a year. Now we're sorry we waited so long! What an exceptional place. This is the kind of food we usually need to go to Sydney to eat: think Becasse but less pretentious, or Bilsons at their height.
The Chef, Jason Martin, is passionate about what he does and it shows. We were so impressed that we've eaten here three times in three weeks! On our last visit our invited guests commented 'I know you said this place was good but we had no idea anywhere on the Coast could be THIS good!'
Our plan is try everything on the menu. So far this has proven to be an excellent decision with my husband and I being delighted with every entree, main and dessert (although to be honest he couldn't resist having the pear fool again on the last outing).
The service is relaxed and professional and they're happy for you to BYO or to choose something from the wine list.
If you dine late the Chef will often come out of the kitchen for a chat. He's told us that he wishes he could have what others have; a view, an extensive wine list, an impressive room.......we disagree. With food this good he doesn't need to do anything else. He also commented that not everyone understands what he's trying to do. I can see why. This really is fine dining and not something that appeals to the masses. I'd recommend people have a look at the web site before booking. If you think the food looks 'fussy' then this restaurant isn't for you. If, on the other hand, you're amazed by beautiful plating and combinations of flavours then prepare to be delighted.
Highly recommended. This is our new favourite restaurant.

Food wasn't bad. The service was okay but we thought it was rather overpriced for a restaurant in a block of shops with very little ambience. Sorry.
