My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. We had a good group on our tour, and James ensured that the day was a success. From the moment we were collected from our accommodation to when we were delivered back to our accommodation, the day went without a hitch. James goes to the smaller wineries, which is really a relaxing way to go. I must admit there was no pressure with having to buy wines, and when you go as a group you seem to have better tastings. All the wineries visited gave informative run downs on their wines and the tastings were generous. My favourite winery on the tour was Constables. They did a very relaxed and informative tasting.

I like the concept of buying your own lunch. Lunch was not included in the price of the tour. We had lunch at Oscars at the Hunter Valley Gardens and the food was in large proportions, and well presented. There was also plenty of choice.

James does a great job, and is very informative. He has a good relaxed demeanour. He answers any questions you may have, and has good local knowledge as he is a long term local. If there could be any change to the tour I think the chocolate shop could be left out. I found the chocolates expensive.

On the whole a great trip and I would recommend it to my friends.

James was a nice guy but also knew a lot about wine. Even when we had questions that the winery owner didn't know the answer to, they always would look at James and he would know the answer. We did three wine stops during our afternoon tour and also the cheese shop. We thought each winery offered something different so it was good to have a little variety. James really did a good job of making sure that we had a great afternoon!

We had a great day out with James, he's a lovely guide and very popular with the wineries which means you are well looked after. Easy-going and knowledgable, we really enjoyed our time with James, who took us to smaller vineyards which we wouldn't have found otherwise - we loved Irongate and Ballabourneen vineyards in particular. The day had a relaxed pace, with a small group. A first-class day which we recommend.

Thanks to Adrienne for a great wine tour recently. A lovely person who selected a couple of standout vineyards to visit No1 being CaperCallie not only for the excellent wine but for the outstanding dark haired young lady presenting the tastings! Fantastic knowledge and a great love of food to match every wine. Another standout was Leogate....We did a half day tour (still 6 hours) covering 3 wineries, plus cheese and chocolate tastings to boot and that was plenty of fun for us....Adrienne went out of her way not rushing us home and providing us with some wonderful lunch and dinner options to explore we would never have discovered (try RidgeView wines and restaurant...superb wine and wonderful cypriot tasting plates...nice people and great view). An added bonus were the people on the bus (total 12 and we were 5) ..2 lovely girls from Oyster bay and some other good people (none of them wine experts) just out for a nice fun day. Pick up and drop off at the door, great value and the tour set us up for the rest of our weekend with great references and advice. Loved it !

James was a very good guide. He had good local knowledge (despite being from England) and had an engaging manner.
The wineries visited were quite different, showcasing different aspects of winemaking in the Hunter.
The visits to the Smelly Cheese Shop and the Hunter Valley Chocolate Shop were a waste of time. At the cheese shop, there were a few tastings of cheese on sticks by someone with no knowledge of the cheeses. The chocolate shop was a number of chocolate chips in a cupcake container handed out by James. Both were really just outlets. These detracted from the otherwise good tour leading to the lower than otherwise rating.
As it was, we only saw 4 wineries whereas on other tours there were three wineries on a half day tour (ours was full day).

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent Wine Tour.
I am glad you enjoyed the Wineries we visited - we try to make these interesting and informative rather than racing in order to squeeze in more tastings.
We have had some previous comments regarding cheese and chocolate tastings and are reviewing this aspect of our wine tours.
