On the way back to Gerroa from Nowra, stopped off to taste their wines, and check out the restaurant just in case. Although it was close to closing time at 5pm, the lady at the cellar door bar was pleased to pour and very informative. The whites were more to my taste and I bought a couple of older bottles of semillon and savagnin (thought to be albariño when planted!) as the younger vintages available for tasting showed potential, and I had never before come across wines from this area.

The vineyards make an attractive view, and as we were leaving we saw an open-sided truck that they use for tours of the vineyards and the rest of the estate.

Just returned from attending a wedding. Our room was in keeping with the style of the venue and yes there was a musty smell but as a previous reviewer said, you get used to it. The room itself is comfortable and the breakfast is good (this was included) however the room is over priced at $220 a night even including breakfast. I would suggest $170 max would be more suitable. The setting however is very nice and I guess it has the monopoly in the area so they have you. The first night we ate at the restaurant which was near to empty and whilst the waiting lady (there was only one staff) was absolutely lovely, she was let down by the chefs. Not on the quality of the food as such but the speed it took for the food to come about. We were a table of 4 and there were two other tables of 2. It took 50 mins for the mains to arrive. Then with the chocolate brownie desert ordered based on another patrons, mine arrived with 1/3 of the chocolate sauce that the other patron received. Different chef I was advised. Petty it sounds but at $220 a night plus dinner you expect a little more. Oh and the rules that state no group gatherings after 9pm are enforced. The bar staff come round the property telling people off. Actually the bar staff in particular the man with the beard are not very friendly at all. The historic buildings are great as is the outlook however they appear to know they have you at their mercy and don't really try to impress.

We recently stayed at the Coolangatta Estate with a family member who was celebrating her birthday. We had a weekend package which was really good value, it included the accomodation, dinner and a bottle of their wine to the value of $25 and breakfast the following morning. The accomodation was very cosy and the grounds and surrounding area is really lovely. The food in the restaurant was very good quality and I would definitely recommend and the breakfast buffet was well catered for. The service was not great however as we didn't know we had to order the food at the entrance to the restaurant as we were not informed, hence we had a very long wait for our food when we found out about the ordering system.

This winery has some historic old buildings, lovely gardens and view. It is worth visiting just for that. I'm not a huge fan of some of their wines to be honest, but there were a couple we liked and ended up buying. I would put that down to personal preference more than anything else.

What a shame.There are some classy bistros around, but this isn’t one of them. No haute cuisine here; just low end pub food.

We were expecting something special, because the location is perfect, and the ambiance is inviting. A swish restaurant should be doing very well here. There were five of us for lunch on a Saturday but when we were seated, it was apparent to all that the chairs were too low for the table. Why on earth did they buy them?

We waited an age and were eventually served very ordinary food. Three of us had the char-grilled chicken offering and it was the epitome of a pre-prepared disaster. The chicken exhibited no sign of char-grilling; the broccolini had morphed into snow peas (broccolini too expensive?); the unroasted, roasted capsicums were out of a jar; ditto the olives; and the feta mash was a grotesque, lumpy travesty. The Fish & Chips looked alright, but went without comment, as did the ‘Speciality’ Tasting Plate.

I am rebuking myself for not reading the Tripadvisor reviews before eating here.
My recommendation is to find somewhere else.
