“Quiet, comfortable, convenient”
Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

We have stayed here before but this time booked an ocean villa for 4 adults (parents and 2 adult sons). The park was only partly booked as it was end of holiday season, hence the quiet and peaceful review. There were only a couple of families with small children staying. The rest were caravan couples, workmen. View was superb and cabin had plenty of room for all of us. The only problem was that beds in second bedroom were too short for adults and one son moved out into loungeroom to sleep. Deck was great for relaxing and we even saw dolphins feeding just out to sea. Plenty of parking also for 2 cars.
Took a lovely walk down steps to the creek and along the extended path which eventually brought me out onto the main road. The extended walk was a little remote and led to a car park at the end of a no through road so it was a little 'scary' to be alone here.
Walk to town is a must. There are lots of shops, cafés, etc and the Main Street is very pretty with all the fig trees.
We played golf at bonville about 15min drive away and it was an easy drive. We also drove into coffs one afternoon but would much rather stay in peaceful sawtell.
We checked out, but didn't use, BBQ facilities as we decided on a cold seafood dinner but everything was very clean and ready for use.
We will definitely stay here again!

Professional, but busy holiday destination. We stayed one night (camping) during peak season, but it wasn't overcrowded. Key deposit required for amenities.

Choose your campsite wisely - the cicadas in the trees make quite a racket!!! (They stop at night). Camping is on a slope, but manageable with thought when setting up.

Clean and tidy facilities (plenty of hot water), didn't have to wait in line for a shower (despite being so busy). Camp kitchen had hot plates and toasters.

Easy access to the creek, great fun!

Bring your bike so you can ride up the street to get a coffee in the morning!

Camped here during the busy Christmas period. Of course it was crowded and busy but that was to be expected. Facilities were well maintained and always clean. I agree with previous comments in terms of security. There is none so lock up your valuables. Members of the public are free to drive through and there were several thefts during our say - mainly e sky's and alcohol. Overall a nice spot.

Room Tip: Ask for a flat site if you are camping.

When we checked in, we were charged $40p/n for 2A & 2C which we thought was really reasonable and they even threw in the 4th night for free - bonus!! We thought it was cheap because the park is shared with the general public (croquet club, public swimming pool & community hall). Anyway, long story short, we wanted to stay an extra night and they said it would cost $110. Apparently when we checked in, they forgot to include the kids (even though we were all standing there). Their mistake and not handled particularly well. Left a bad taste. Other than that, Sawtell is a lovely place.

Second time at Sawtell Beach Holiday Park -the park is large (good sites) and well set up catering for a wide variety our group had caravan, tent and popup caravan the general facilities are dated but in good condition and clean. The ensuites (caravans not a lot) are modern and the cabins (a choice) looked good. Staff friendly

Great access to town (a few hundred yards) which has pub, clubs coffee shops etc (big super market about 10 minutes in car the fit ones could walk or ride the bike) a choice of beach conditions and good exploring

We stayed 4 nights in our van on an ensuite site... Is a great location very clean and tidy park... Was told when we arrived to lock away valuables as things go missing, but worked out quiet quickly why that is. Anyone is allowed in off the street to use the park and bbq area which I didn't really like at all. One nite we wanted a bbq but couldn't use the ones right near us as some people who were not even staying at the park had come into the camp kitchen to have a party, we were left walking the park looking for a bbq yet we were paying to stay there.Other than that it's a great little park and will possibly be back as the location to the beach ect is great.

Plenty of room ,informal layout and good size sites. A range of well kept facilities throughout the park backed by friendly efficient service. Close to the charming town centre, the water and an excellent headland walk.
