“Beautifulk grounds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

Had an older style cabin but it did us fine. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the staff are very friendly and professional. Have stayed in this place years ago when it was under different mangement and terribly run down. What a change and nice to see mangement are interested in the local nature and environment. Sawtell is a beautiful spot.

Room Tip: There are modern cabins if you want to pay more money

The distance to the beach and main city strip was great.
Camp kitchen was great.
Play area for children, great. Room to play and ride bikes, great.
Toilets, ok. Could do with a clean, eventhough they state it's cleaned twice a day. So not sure what was actually Cleaned!
Laundry was great but no change available for usage. So make sure you have lots of $1 coins.
Front desk service, ok. Wont be winning awards for customer service.
A lot of theft, as we were advised upon our arrival. No security, no boom gates, so you do get "visitors" entering and roaming the grounds freely.
In one wk Police came twice.
There was a public 'Fun Day' organised at the park, we were never advised of this. This meant, the children couldn't use the park, the general public were invited to enter the grounds now even less security, fences were erected so we had restricted access to the amenities.
We should have been told about this public event and given the opportunity to have a choice where to set up camp as now we were in the thick of it. Our hope for a nice relaxing peaceful day was ruined. Not forgetting the security of our belongings.

We camped at the Sawtell Beach Caravan Park for 3 nights and loved it. It is a lovely grassed park. It is slopey but there are plenty of flat areas for a tent. The amenities are excellent, though for campers, depending where you put your tent, it can be a pleasant 5 minute stroll away. The camp kitchen is modern and spotless. Because of the time of year we camped, in November, the park was peaceful with only the wild life in abundance. Sawtell itself is a jewel with its lovely beaches and national parks. Along its main boulevard you will find creative eateries, sure to tempt you away from the bbq. We camped here about 15 years ago, it certainly won't take that long for us to return to this delightful spot, so much more to be discovered.

We have stayed here several times before and love it! It is a 5 minute walk to the gorgeous main st of Sawtell and a 10 minute walk to the surf beach! The amenities are great and there is loads of space to kick balls around! the public pool is right next door too. We stay in a cabin and have tried the basic, no frills, no loo type and the much nicer "beachfront villa cabins" #32 has a great view! I know this is "camping" but the cleanliness of the cabins could improve especially the blankets provided. If you can't relax with a bit of grime, bring your own doona and a bit of pine-o-clean! I love this campground and will always return!

The Sawtell Beach Caravan Park is a lovely park in a terrific position in sunny Sawtell. It's leafy, nicely laid out & well maintained.

We enjoyed a comfortable stay in a Hibiscus Cabin. Our cabin had a verandah & was fully self contained. Parking is at the side but does not have a carport. Like most cabins the lounge & dining is combined & it did have air conditioning. The dining table seats 4 however the lounge is an oversized 2 seater. The main bedroom had a queen size bed & the second bedroom had bunk beds that accommodate 2. Bathroom was a reasonable size & the shower had good pressure.

The only 2 things that would have made our stay more comfortable would be the addition of a ceiling fan in the main bedroom & sensor lights on all cabin verandahs. The cabins position means that if your neighbour fails to turn off their verandah light before retiring then your bedroom be effected by that light shining through even with the blinds closed.

The cabin did have water glimpses & was positioned next to the walkway that leads down to the water.

Spent a week at Sawtell Beach Caravan Park, just outside of Coffs Harbour for those not familiar with the area. Stayed in a Ocean View Cabin which are well appointed with 2BR, the master bedroom and another with one bed and a bunk bed.The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, separate toilet and good sized bathroom. The location is less than ten minutes drive to Coffs and the same to walk downtown to Sawtell. Would recommend this place to families in particular and couples will love it as well.

While looking for somewhere to stay in the Coffs Region we stumbled across a special deal for this place. We snapped up two nights in an Ocean Villa. Upon arrival we were presented with beautifull green lawns, a very tidy reception and plenty of friendly people. After being served by the nice lady we headed to our ocean villa. WOW, how good are these things, propped up on top overlooking the ocean (which is a quick walk down).

The villas have everything, they are even better than what you see on their website. If you are going to stay in one of these....No 36 is the pick as it has the best view......as for the rest of the park..the Grey Army was strong, the powered sites are great, the ammenities are clean and modern, the same goes for the camp kitchen as well....

As for the location to shops etc, walking distance to RSL, Sawtell CBD and Toormina Shopping Plaza is a 5 min drive...
