Went on the 4wd adventures unlimited sandboarding with the wife and 2 kids.Had a blast going flat stick down the dunes.Only downside is having to walk back up and taking home half the dunes in your pants.lol.The operators are friendly and supplied water although we took our own. Also take some sort of eyewear, sunnies, goggles etc as i had to wash sand out of my daughters eyes a few times.Spent about 1.5 hours there and that was enough for the kids.Go to the toilet before you get on the red bus.

You can see the tip of the sand dunes as you make your way up to Port Stephens but for the most part it is hidden from view. As we have young children we opted for a Sandboarding only experience on the Anna Bay side. We went with the big red bus which takes you for a fun ride up to their area. There is a small slope for little ones and a larger slope for those wanting more of a thrill. Our littlest sat with daddy while the 4 yo did it by himself. We were treated to FA18 HORNETS on low fly passes, a brief down pour, on our return there was a hoon doing circle work in the sand and a sand storm. Add to that a beautiful beach and a nearby cafe means we had a full day all sorted.

we paid $74 for a family (2A 2C) to do sand boarding at the dunes- this include the shuttle to the dunes and use of sandboards. the 50m slope could be a bit overwhelming at first but is very enjoyable! kids love it. there are 3 types of sandboards (slow, average and fast) and my family said that the black ones (fast) is the best. highly recommended activity

Really worth a visit. The dunes are impressive! Miles of white sandy beach, great spot for a picnic and free!

Very busy at Easter, so many tourists we couldn't get in to see it all. 2 hour wait for camel rides and other activities with long waiting times. Limited parking.
