Discovery Parks - Pambula Beach
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 25, 2011

Stayed at the Discovery campsite Pambula Beach (was Holiday Hub) and had a ball. Must admit wasn't prepared to rough it so we stayed in a luxury villa. Reception staff were very friendly and happy to let us in early as the villa was ready. Clean, well equipt and nicely positioned within the park, but then again with direct beach front access there can be no bad spots on this park. Dreamy white sandy beach with bookable water sport lessons, great running tracks either through the national park or over the cliffs and a bike track to Merimbula. Topped off by bucket loads of friendly Kangaroos!

We can't say enough good things about this caravan park/resort. We have spent the past five Easter school holidays there. We have have a caravan so haven't stayed in the cabins. The facilities in this park are first rate..indoor and out door pools and spa, jumping pillow, mini golf, buggy hire, kids club activities, teenage activities, games room, tv room, playground, even a parents retreat ,outdoor cinema, bingo nights, red faces competition (talent contest for those that don't remember Hey Hey!), Karoke nights, sandcastle building contests, craft classes, treasure hunts...I can go on and on! Some of these activites are limited to school holidays so if you are going in low season it may be best to check with the park. Bikes are also allowed in the park and there is a great bike path into Merimbula about 10km away. A favourite of ours is to ride along the beach at low tide, have a coffee in Merimbula and ride back...magic!
The park is situated right on the beach so you go to sleep and wake listening to the ocean. There is national park at one end for those that like bush walking. For those campers there is the best camp kitchen I have ever seen, fully equiped even an oven if you want to cook a roast. The toliet and shower block is a little old considering how great all the other facilites are but they are still very clean and by no means run down and have heated floors which is a bit of a novelty. There are security guards that walk around during the night in peak times and you have to be quite from 10pm till 7am and they do enforce it strongly, but after a day on the beach by 10pm you are ready for bed if not there already! If you are staying on a site I would recommend asking to be down by the beach, although if you have little ones that would be on the jumping pillow a lot you may want to be near there. The only bad thing I can say about this park is that in peak time it is getting a bit on the expensive side for a powered site about $80 a night for a family of four. But considering the great facilites its well worth it.
This is my kids favourite place on earth and they would rather holiday here than the Gold Coast....and thats saying something! I hang out from the time we leave each year, till the next Easter to get back there...I just instantly relax the minute we drive in! And the kids are happy as larry the whole time. If you are going peak times you have to book well ahead, sometimes 12mths. Ask for directions to Neathercoate Falls from the park office about 20mins drive away, very pretty and you can swim in the rock pool below, although very cold so a wetsuit is a good idea. Take the kids boogie boards too they can float around on them. Merimbula is about 10km away with shops and supermarkets , resturants, RSL and Bowling Club. Merimbula golf course is also a 5 min drive away, great bistro and the course has fantastic views.

Oh...one last thing Kangaroos hop& laze around the park so if you have overseas visitors they will be absolutely amazed. Don't feed or annoy them though as they can become agressive. feel free to contact me if you have any questions...I'm sure you will lve this piece of paradise as much as we do!

We love this place and keep going back. The facilites are fisrt class with an idorr pool so the kids can swim no metter how cold it get. They also have an outdoor pool as well which is huge. During school holidays they run nightly outdoor movies for the kids. There is an excellent playground with trampolines. I like the heated floor in the bathrooms. There is also a kids bathroom. The camp kitchen has two microwaves and 2 ovens. The place is kept imimculately clean. the staff are very helpful. There used to be a restaurant overlooking a very big jumping pillow., but this is closed at the moment. We ate there and were unimpressed. There is still a shop and takeaway food available. We will keep coming back here as it is good value in the mid-shoulder times. It can get a bit pricey in the hight season.
