“Lovely little beach”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

It's a narrow beach and was crowded (in summer though) and not wide enough for beach soccer (which was important for some of us). But it was great in the water and we saw lots of schools of fish even in shallow water. Not my favourite beach but not bad either.

“Good place for snorkelling”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

If you are not planning for a long stay in Port Stephens, the Fly Point is a very good place to get some water activity done for a tight travel schedule. You can hire snorkelling equipment (~AUD25) at Nelson Bay, the staff will provide you safety tips and current information. Even a swim is nice. A lot of fishes, marine plants etc. could be seen even without diving. Toilets and showers are close by (<50m).

Good place for snorkelling. Next to the beautiful Little Beach. Just need to watch the strong current - don't go in!

“Snorkelling at Fly Point”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

Snorkeling at fly point is a fantastic experience. As soon as you step into the water you are surrounded by fish. Take a loaf of bread to feed the bream. They are very tame and will snatch the bread from your hand. Some of the fish species we saw were bream, luderick, yellow striped leather jacket, crimson banded wrasse, females and a beautiful big male and senator wrasse. High tide is the best time to go. The visibility was not great but still well worth doing. There are steps down to the entry point with non ticketed parking directly above and a park with toilets and showers.
