Halifax Holiday Park

My husband and I have just spent a few days at the this park. We stayed in the Endeavour cabin just before Christmas for 4 days. Wow what a view we had from this cabin straight out over the crystal clear blue bay. The cabin was very nice and clean. The park is wonderful and very clean as well. The position is great as you can go to the bay side to swim or the beach side to swim your choice. The staff are very helpful. Would I recommend this park to anyone? Sure would! It is not far from Sydney to drive and in a wonderful part of Australia. Well done, Halifax Holiday Park.

Thank you for the review and so pleased you enjoyed your recent stay at Halifax Holiday Park. The Endeavour two bedroom self contained cabin is well located on site with views of Little Beach which is a very popular beach for families staying at the park.We are lucky to have access from the park to beautiful Shoal Bay beach as well.

Hope to see you at Halifax again soon.

Just come back from 4 days in Wanda cabin at Halifax Holiday Park. Brilliant, spotlessly clean and comfortable. I was very impressed with the toilet block, although we didn't use them as we had our own shower/toilet. Also very good laundry facilities. I don't do "camping" but one of these beautiful cabins is just perfect for someone like me who only does "glamping"! Excellent location. Only downside, the shop closed at 3pm!

We camped here for 2 nights. Definite good location, close to 2 beaches. Quieter at night compared to Shoal bay holiday park where I camped last year, although birds still wake you up from about 4:30am, so prepare an ear plugs will be a good idea. But if for camping, well, not sure if I would come back again. Tent sites are very poor maintained, patchy grass land, our site 98 is mostly sandy ground. The second day was quite windy, a lot of dust was blew into the tent. Kitchen is a bit small. Hope these can be improved in the future.

Hi Michael,

Happy New Year and thank you very much for your recent feedback of your stay at Halifax Holiday Park. Due to the popularity of our tent sites we have experienced the problem of the grass thinning in areas in the past. We are addressing this issue currently by putting two large mats on two of the most popular tent sites. These special mats allow the grass to grow underneath and allows for tent pegs holes to be made without the material fraying and also prevents dust and soil coming through the matting from underneath. So far the customer feedback on these two sites has been positive so we are planning to continue with installing the matting on all 14 tent sites. Our beautiful natural setting does attract a lot of wildlife including birds (that can be noisy on occasion) and koalas (look up in the trees next time you might spot our other residents). We do plan to renovate our camp kitchen in the near future as part of our ongoing Holiday Park Plans of Management.

We hope to see you at Halifax again soon.

Best Regards

We stayed in the Broughton cabin which was spotless and ultra modern, the best we have stayed in any where in Australia.
The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The park is in a great location central to beaches, shops and restaurants.
Enjoyed our short stay very much.

We stayed at Halifax Holiday Park for the night camping in our tent. The park is situated 100m from Little Beach at Nelson Bay and also has direct access to Shoal Bay Beach. It has caravan, camp sites and it also has villas. It is10 mins walk from the RSL club for meals or 20 - 30 mins walk from either Shoal Bay or Nelson Bay.

We had no issues with security, however we did find it inconvenient having to put a 5 digit code into the door each time we needed to use the toilets and showers.

The park has a small playground, new and very large BBQ area and about 170 sites.

Next time we stay at Nelson Bay, we will most likely camp here again and I would recommend this park to all travelers.

Thank you for your review regarding your recent stay at Halifax Holiday Park. As you have mentioned the location of the park allows for walking to both Shoal Bay and Nelson Bay to make most of the wide range of cafe's/ Restaurants/ and speciality shops.Being able to gain access to two beaches from the park is also very popular with families staying at the park.
Where I understand your concern about having to use the code to gain access to the toilets and showers . The key pad locks on all the doors of the amenities do make for a more secure and safer environment for guests using the public facilities. We have also installed larger number & letter signage near the key pads to make them more user friendly.

Thanks again and hope to see you at Halifax again soon.

We stayed for 3 days and loved the location. Private gate down to a separate beach .
Villas seem to be renovated or quite new. Only 2 of us but there was bunks available in a second bedroom. Ground level villa with a verandah and table and chairs for the arvo drink. The whole area of Port Stephens worth exploring. Loads of fresh seafood and restaurants .

We stayed in the frangapini villa, one of the 3 raised 3 bedroom villas overlooking the bay.

Villa was very clean & comfortable. 2 single beds were great instead of bunks for the little kids. 2 double bedrooms & 2 bathrooms worked well for a stay with the grandparents.

Location of the park between beach & bay was great, easy to walk to beach, little shop, diggers club & a nice walk to Nelson bay.

Great to have laundry & storage room under the villa- easy to store beach gear, bikes, pram...

2 parking spots also very handy.

Villa was well equipped with towels, toilet paper, cleaning equipment, dishwasher tablets, BBQ cleaning tools etc...

A nicely decorated & comfortable villa.
