We booked this hotel last minute as we were diving at Fly Point Nelson Bay the following day. We only wanted a bed to sleep in so chose the cheapest option, and werent expecting anything much. We were pleasantly surprised.
We stayed in the Studio room which was absolutely huge, it could have easy slept 4-5 people. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfy.
The only down side was the reception, staff werent here from 5pm and in the morning when we checked out at 9 there was still no one there, so we had to leave keys on the desk.
Apart from that, nothing to complain about, we would stay here again.

My husband and I have just spent 4 nights on the "Zulu", a floating motel on the marina at Nelson Bay. Although the bed was comfortable and the shower quite good, the rest left little to be desired. I felt that the whole outfit was grotty and unkempt. I did not want to drink out of the coffee mugs and better use could have been made of the space. There were no bedside tables or lamps, due to the narrow space between bed and wall. Get creative, pop in a narrow stand with a lamp. This is basic and expected in any accommodation. I had to get out of bed and shuffle sideways to turn off the light!! This would be the worst accommodation I have ever stayed at, the location, proximity to town and the novelty being the only attraction. Come on owners, drop the price substantially or overhaul this poor floating, rotting hotel room.

Room Tip: I would not expect "Zulu's" neighbour, the "African Queen" to be much differ...

The Internet advert was only accurate in describing these as spacious, otherwise, no reception on arrival or for 3hours of the next day - no WiFi, "aint got none" was the helpful reply, room not serviced on a daily basis, dripping water sounds made it difficult to sleep even though chasing a cockroach had tired me out. Next time we go elsewhere.

The apartment was okay, but not at all worth the price.. also it does state on 'wotif.com' that in a 'spa apartment' there is both an indoor corner spa and an outdoor private spa.. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. NONE OF THE APARTMENTS DO. Oh and mind you, not even the shared spa next to the pool works.
I stayed here with 4 of my friends and after being confronted by a very rude lady (who I assume was the manager) we paid the extra $50 for an additional person. And were given a set of sheets and a towel for the extra guest.
We finally got the keys and went across the road to the unit.
The unit was clean but the furniture appeared to be old and worn. The fold out lounge my friend was expected to sleep on, was dirty and full of sand. So she opted not to sleep on that.
The outdoor bbq was impractical at nite as it is shoved aside in a corner with no light at all ( as that was broken too) .
After our weekend was over, the check out process was merely putting the keys in a basket with a note on it saying 'check out keys'.... I guess that worked out well as we didn't have to talk to the angry manager again.

Stayed here overnight due to my partner playing football at nelson bay. We booked friday night about 6pm to arrive saturday 2pm. Booked online and because we were only staying one night i did want either a early check in or late check out so i called the resort straight after i booked. Unfortunately the lady who answered was not helpful either way as she 'couldnt tell if i could check on early or out late'. We checked in at 330, relaxed til 530 then left for the rest of the night only arriving back at 3am. Didnt spend much time in there but was decent enough.

Quick look at the pool and we didnt even think of swimming when we arrived - was about 30 degrees but looked too dirty! Air con in the lounge was so old school i cant even describe it! Lets just say there was no remote...

Overall seemed ok, i personally believe too pricey for that one night. Great location though, 2 mins away from a quiet beach. Lots of room in the apartment. One thing i thought was odd was that on check in, had to walk across the road where our 'keys' in an envelope were sticky taped to the reception door. Just grabbed them and walked into our room. On departure walked into reception and dropped the keys into a bowl - no customer service at all!

Im excited to be coming back to nelson bay over this coming easter but we will not be staying here, have found better places for the same price or a bit more but are alot better equipped!

We wanted a cheap weekend away close to the beach and Leilani Hacidendas provided this for us. The apartment was roomy and although it was advertised as for 2 adults, it could accomodate for 5. It is also a close distance to shoal bay beach, and we found it to be very clean.
