We only stayed one night but it was very clean, had the feel of a high class motel, room was a great price, I have stayed down the road in a dump for twice the price, this place will be our choice for future visits

Having stayed at numerous hotels in the area, the Nelson Resort (in name but not really) was one of the best we have stayed at so far. The best part is the location. For quick access to the marina and city centre, there is no better. Having undergone a major renovation recently the overall feel is very good. We were welcomed and given clear directions on parking, room access, stairs etc. The Queen deluxe room was good, nice comfy bed, renovated and clean bathroom. A small deck has views towards the bay although it is directly above the drive through bottle shop next door. The salt water pool was heated to 28 degrees which was great. We asked for and were given a code for the free wireless internet but it only worked for a few minutes and then stopped. Several attempts later and couldn't even open any internet pages (maybe just very busy that night). We had breakfast within the hotel alongside the check in and the staff were very friendly, service great and the food surprisingly good (cheap too). I was thinking that this was about the best short stay experience for a long, until checkout. Despite trying to settle the account the counter staff elected to take a phone call and we had to wait for a few minutes while they explained the check in process to the caller. Not a big thing really but, just like when you are in a shop and the staff answer the phone and ignore the customer right on front of them. Will happily return for another visit soon.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms at the front of the complex don't have a great view because of large trees acr...

We were very happy with our room (suite 26). It was newly decorated, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfy and our child slept in the sofa bed which was perfect too. We also had a swim in the very warm pool which was great for a winter holiday. The location is fantastic as we could walk down to the marina for dinner and to our whale watching tour. We could also walk to the shops and left the car in the carpark for out time in the Nelson. Would recommend this hotel to friends.

We hqved stqyed here A few times as we see family in the area, and we have not been let down yet. The hotel is clean and modern, however it is the great friendly staff that make it. And the breakfast is good too. It has become so busy here one time we could not get a room midweek so had to go elsewhere, and after that now will book ahead. Cost was about $160 and that was good value for room we had.

This has been our 3rd stay at the Nelson & the staff seem to be more 'accommodating than ever! Always a smile throughout the various departments - Every request met with courtesy & prompt attention.

Pool was spotless as were all amenities. Thanks for the good internet connection.

The extra booking for our friends much appreciated.

As someone famous once declared I shall return.

Much thanks Sally & Dave Clark (Sydney)

Room Tip: We've been upstairs & Downstairs All equally good! Room insulation Excellent!

\this hotel was recommended to us by friends, and we were very happy that they did. \the location is right in the middle of \nelson \bay, which is the main town in the area. \the water and town are a short stroll, as are many restaurants.

The real plus here is the staff - they could not do enough. we dealt with emma I think, Debbie and jess in café and they are all so friendly, unlike some other places \I have been.

the hotel itself looks to have been renovated recently, and is stylish and comfortable. we had a queen room and it had everything any good hotel would have. we will be back to stay on out trip next year.

I went with my partner and absolutely adored the accommodation. The bed and pillows were more comfortable than my own.
The pool was amazing, great size, nice and warm (winter holiday) and empty of all others at 10pm.
The staff were always helpful and very nice.
I would stay again there again anytime.
The only negative would be the breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Over an hour from sitting to eating. The food was absolutely delicious, but I wouldn't wait that long again.

Room Tip: Queen Spa room. If your partner likes a bath definitely worthwhile. Amazing room.
