It actually pains me to write this review, because my husband and I go on these trips not only to see this beautiful country but to support these country towns.
The food was marginally average, suggestion here would be to limit the dishes offered, way too many items on the menu, and do them well. Nothing worse after a long drive then to turn up to a country town where the main events o the evening are food and drink o my to have experienced a very very average meal.
Let’s move on now to the decor- I appreciate renovations are a huge expense, but really the 30 year old faded orange velour Material on both the booth benches and the bar stools have to go. In fact, the rest of the original material (ie wooden beams, panelling, wine barrel bar tables) would probably be accepted as a testament to a by-gone 70-80’s era if the drapes, the seating material and possibly flooring were updated. Lastly, the place could do with a bit of a clean as well. Not acceptable for ledges to be dusty in a place serving food.
With that said, the staff were pleasant.
