Stop over on the way north. Not a big caravan park and out of the town.
Very clean and quite modern cabin. Very quite even though just off the highway.
Adequate price for the cabin.
Management and staff very helpful.

Thank-you for you comments - a small park, but able to provide good value for money, comfortable accommodation and sites.

We stopped over for one night only. The room no 1 was spacious, clean and you can take you pet inside. The laundry is outside and it works well. $4 for a load and about $4 to,dry it. Just check out the room before you fall asleep as there are Mosquitos. The owners supply mosquito spray under the sink. Use it :)
I would not go there on holiday as such, however for a stop over @$103 per night including the dog, it is good.

Thank-you for your comments; yes, the park tends to be a transit park, where people stay overnight when travelling between other cities. We try to provide good value, clean facilities, but unfortunately we have not found a magic cure for seasonal mosquitoes sneaking into the cabins, so quick check and a shot of spray if required will do the trick.

If travelling through, and you need a one night stop over, this place is great for the price. Cabins are clean, the rooms have what you need, it's not too noisy (considering the proximity to the highways).

In this case, the only really bad thing is that there was one BBQ. Just one. Plenty of caravan and tent spots with about 8 cabins. But just one BBQ between the lot of them. There was quite a long queue, too (thanks to another guest for letting us share so we could eat at a reasonable time).

But if you want a few days away with the family, then you may be disappointed. Far too many little things add up to a distrating time. The children's bunks do not have any protection to stop your precious bundles of joy from falling out, so you need to put the matress from the top bunk on the floor. (One of our group fell - so we're not being paranoid). Considering the bunks are in the same room as the lounge, this gets in the way. The bedroom door squeaked very loudly, right next to the bunks so you end up not moving it. There's a few items mising that you really do expect (e.g. hand towel and some kitchen items) - nothing critical, but it's shame. Otherwise there is aircon, a smal; telly and it is clean.

Outside, basic children's play equipment is provided, as is a nice (small) pool, but there was also a huge mound of dirt and building materials - one child was throwing rocks from the mound and, of course, our children wanted to follow. We should be able to let them play, not have to watch out for flying debris and tell them to go play elsewhere.

As for speaking with the owners/manager - we did ask about checking out an hour late as we left the day after the clocks went forward. That was met with such a blunt response that I didn't want to venture into the office again. As it was, cleaners were hoverring at 8am (or 7am, as it felt because of the hour change) to make sure we were out on time.

My rating would be a 4 if we stopped one night - and this is predominantly a night stop-over place. But we booked for a family meeting with others, and left disappointed - hence the rating of 2.

We now have a second BBQ that can be brought out when the occasional demand exists. The bunks are now fitted with rails that can be clipped into place to provide protection against roll-out. The weather causes frequent maintenance demands with hinges and locks - we're sorry that hinge hadn't received a shot of lubricant. We have typically found people either do not use the hand towels, or use them to remove their make-up, which results in the towel being ruined and we are forced to compensate the linen service and pay for replacements. We try to have a sensible range of implements in the kitchen, but occasionally items go missing and may not be able to replaced immediately. The building material and debris has all been cleared up at the completion of the works; unfortunately not everyone supervises their children adequately to prevent incident. Most of our customers do tend to be one-night stays, travelling between the major cities, so we are set up as a transit park as opposed to a tourist destination park where people intend to stay longer. We have had several family reunions here since, with some groups returning after enjoying their stay.

Stayed recently in one of the new cabins with a colleague for business. Well appointed, new cabins (that had been flooded earlier in the year) were equal to good quality motel rooms. Despite the proximity of the park to a 24 hour truck stop, the park is quiet. Excellent, friendly service.

Glad you like the refurbished cabins - the upside of the flood is many things have been renewed after the refit.

A lovely place to settle for the night. Level sights with concretet pads, although very close together. Just out of town, but passing traffic was quite distant in sound. Amenties very clean and updated.

After a long day drive from Newcastle this was a very welcome find. Friendly reception, easy drive thru site, very clean and well appointed facilities and a good greasy spoon meal over the road at the Caltex. Quiet. Just right for a good nights rest

Not hard to find, its right on the Newell Highway opposite the truck stop. I was a bit hesitant at first but the reviews were all good. It was very clean and tidy, we booked a family cabin, they are great! Even though on the Newell, it was very quite and clean! It was green with lots of trees and the kids loved the pool at the end of the long drive. Managers were very friendly. Can recommend for families or vanners. Lovely undercover camp ovens there too. The Venice Italian in east street make great Pizza too!

Once you find the Murrumbidgee River, then heading south over the bridges, then turn right onto the Newell Highway, we're directly opposite the big Caltex Roadhouse (which also does good meals, along with ice, gas, fuel, etc). We try to maintain the cabins to a good standard and keep the park suitable for all ages; the pool is popular in hot weather. The free BBQ and camp kitchen can be good for a bit of outdoor entertainment. Thanks for your comments.
