With such a fabulous setting, right by the water, we were looking forward to a relaxing atmosphere, but it was just the opposite. We arrived at 11.30am and a small queue of people coming from the front and the back entrance of the cafe caused a squash right in front of the entrance to the kitchen so that the wait staff had to ask to get through each time they came and went. Some people wanted cooked food but apparently they close the kitchen from 11.00am to 12.00 so that the kitchen staff can prep for lunch. That means that for an hour you can only get coffee and cake, nothing hot. What's worse is that even if it's 11.45 you can't place your order for when the kitchen does open up. So not only are the customers unhappy but the staff are pretty tetchy too. A few simple design changes could make the cafe area far more user friendly to both customers and staff and maybe they should think about a few changes in the kitchen too!
