Travelling interstate we decided to stay again at Dormie House. Lovely room and facilities however this time the restaurant was a big letdown. Staff would have been better suited to working at McDonalds and were of the age to do so. No idea of table service. We should have guessed things were amiss when served bread rolls which were warm to the touch but still frozen inside. We hadn't finished our entree when the main meal arrived and was plonked down onto the table with a giggle and "sorry". The bottle of wine was simply plonked onto the table already opened. The main itself was tough, undercooked and cold because the plates hadn't been heated. We'd stay at Dormie House again but next time would walk the short distance to the Golf Club for a meal.

Dormie House is a lovely hotel, perfect for a weekend away and no doubt a great spot if you're a keen golfer seeing as it's located right on the golf course. We had a front-facing corner room which was spotlessly clean, quiet, well-appointed, with a lovely large modern bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was superb - far better than many Sydney restaurants and moderately priced by comparison. Likewise breakfast was hearty, country style. Great spot to stay - highly recommend it - even though it is a bit pricey it's worth it.

Old world dormitory-style wooden building means creaky floorboards and no air conditioning but comfortable accommodation. We booked a standard room via Wotif for only $110 a night and, while very small (double bed only), it was comfortable. I would not however, want to pay the full price of $199! We did not eat at the restaurant so cannot comment. Situated right on the golf course it obviously makes for a good golfing weekend getaway.
