This is my first negative review of a restaurant. I visited the Mittagong Station Coffee House for lunch on Wednesday 4 December 2013. The ambience of the place was spoilt with locals queuing for coffee loudly using mobile phones so that everybody in the place could hear the latest business deal or planned Christmas party. The menu is uninspiring - lamb salad, beef burger, veggie burger and avocado, chicken and bacon sandwich, I chose the latter only to find that the sandwich was made from ingredients clearly sourced from the local Woolies deli bar. This comprised a miniscule amount of avocado, a slice of pressed chicken loaf, a slice of ham and no seasoning leading to a bland concoction. A side salad straight out of the woolies plastic bag accompanied this culinary delight. The sandwich, a veggie burger, tea and iced coffee came to $42. The service was adequate but not overly friendly. This is my first and definitely last visit to this establishment.
