Bowral Road Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #4 of 8 Mittagong B&B and Inns
Reviewed December 11, 2013

On a recent road trip, we stopped overnight at the Bowral Road Bed & Breakfast at Mittagong. We were welcomed by Shane, our co-host, who showed us to our suite, which was situated at the back of the residence. We chose the Wisteria Suite, which we found to be clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. On arrival, in the guest's kitchen/dining area, afternoon tea of cake and a selection of teas of coffees was waiting for us, which was pleasant after our drive. Later that evening, we met the co-host, Alyse, who was very friendly and welcoming. She prepared our continental breakfast for us next morning. A very pleasant accommodation for bed and breakfast in the Mittagong area. Two rooms are available, which are similar in decoration. Parking is on the main road, but if you ask the hosts, you may park in the house driveway.

Gorgeous little place - our very comfortable room with a terrific ensuite looked out onto a fairyland garden and a magical faraway tree housing cockatoos and magpies by day and possums by night. Our delightful and charming host alyse obviously loves her B & B and does everything to make your stay special. A lovely breakfast with fresh fruit salad made especially for you, and cereals, toast, yoghurt etc served in a sunny little room. Crazy if you don't pay this little gem a visit.

As its name suggests this delightful bed and breakfast is located on the Bowral Road almost half way between the two country centres of Mittagong and Bowral, making it a perfect base for visiting this part of the Southern Highlands. Despite being located on this road there is absolutely zero road noise to be heard from your room. My wife and I stayed in the Jasmine Room, which is identical to the only other room on offer. Our room had a beautiful décor, spotless and very inviting (including a decanter of port with accompanying chocolates). The bed was huge and wonderfully comfortable. We stayed the one night and had a great stay, topped off by a delicious cooked breakfast, which we chose to take out on the veranda. The B&B also offers access to tea and coffee in a small kitchenette, which has over a dozen different types of tea – including several varieties of loose-leaf tea, which always wins top marks with me. Tea bag tea can only get you so far! Your hosts Shane and Alyse are very welcoming and make you feel right at home.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms and they are exactly the same. Toss a coin if you have to choose.

We stayed at this lovely B&B on a weeknight as part of a trip to the Southern Highlands. It was quiet and peaceful despite its very central and convenient location. The rooms were vey clean, private and beautifully kept. The breakfast was delightfully presented in a comfortable room and offered fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, toast and fresh homemade croissants. The service is very pleasant and unobtrusive. We would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms, which seem to be identical in size and amenities. Both have a pretty outlo...

My adult daughter and I recently spent a "girlie weekend" at this lovely B&B. Our room was quiet, light and airy, very comfortable, with modern decor. The garden outside was very tranquil and had a delightful garden with a water fountain. Our hosts were very kind and provided a substantial cooked breakfast each morning. The only thing that I was slightly disappointed with was that the advertised "afternoon tea" was very basic..a few biscuits. Despite that very small "minus", we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and I would definitely recommend this B&B to friends. :)

Dont be put off by the side entrance as the purpose built bedroom and bathroom are equal to any 5 star hotel.from the quality of the beddings to the little extras like the music choice playing on arrival to the chocs and port in the room,to the more than adequate breakfast to the 24 hour coffee and home made biscuits to the friendliness of the hosts ,its all together a wonderful place to stay.

My friend & I stayed here recently & found the B&B to be extremely clean, cosy & comfortable.
The bed was awesome & one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in!
The breakfast (especially the hot breakfast with homemade almond croissants) was delicious! Shane & Alyse were extremely hospitable & friendly. I would definitely recommend this B&B.
