“Simply delightful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

As its name suggests this delightful bed and breakfast is located on the Bowral Road almost half way between the two country centres of Mittagong and Bowral, making it a perfect base for visiting this part of the Southern Highlands. Despite being located on this road there is absolutely zero road noise to be heard from your room. My wife and I stayed in the Jasmine Room, which is identical to the only other room on offer. Our room had a beautiful décor, spotless and very inviting (including a decanter of port with accompanying chocolates). The bed was huge and wonderfully comfortable. We stayed the one night and had a great stay, topped off by a delicious cooked breakfast, which we chose to take out on the veranda. The B&B also offers access to tea and coffee in a small kitchenette, which has over a dozen different types of tea – including several varieties of loose-leaf tea, which always wins top marks with me. Tea bag tea can only get you so far! Your hosts Shane and Alyse are very welcoming and make you feel right at home.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms and they are exactly the same. Toss a coin if you have to choose.

We stayed at this lovely B&B on a weeknight as part of a trip to the Southern Highlands. It was quiet and peaceful despite its very central and convenient location. The rooms were vey clean, private and beautifully kept. The breakfast was delightfully presented in a comfortable room and offered fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, toast and fresh homemade croissants. The service is very pleasant and unobtrusive. We would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms, which seem to be identical in size and amenities. Both have a pretty outlo...

My adult daughter and I recently spent a "girlie weekend" at this lovely B&B. Our room was quiet, light and airy, very comfortable, with modern decor. The garden outside was very tranquil and had a delightful garden with a water fountain. Our hosts were very kind and provided a substantial cooked breakfast each morning. The only thing that I was slightly disappointed with was that the advertised "afternoon tea" was very basic..a few biscuits. Despite that very small "minus", we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and I would definitely recommend this B&B to friends. :)

Dont be put off by the side entrance as the purpose built bedroom and bathroom are equal to any 5 star hotel.from the quality of the beddings to the little extras like the music choice playing on arrival to the chocs and port in the room,to the more than adequate breakfast to the 24 hour coffee and home made biscuits to the friendliness of the hosts ,its all together a wonderful place to stay.

My friend & I stayed here recently & found the B&B to be extremely clean, cosy & comfortable.
The bed was awesome & one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in!
The breakfast (especially the hot breakfast with homemade almond croissants) was delicious! Shane & Alyse were extremely hospitable & friendly. I would definitely recommend this B&B.

Although I am a fairly new Trip Advisor reviewer, my wife and I have been staying in B&B's since 1996 and as we have got older, we have become more discerning so we probably look for different things to mainstream users. We checked into this B&B with mixed thoughts as the front street appearance was not quite what we expected from a B&B rated No.1 in Mittagong. The accommodation is at the back of the owners dwelling and access is down an unpaved pathway at the side of the house. Parking is on the street which worried us a bit.

However, the rooms are very nice with a monstrous king size bed, (very comfortable) and quality furnishings. Different types of pillows are available on request. IT WAS VERY CLEAN. There is a separate breakfast room which has 24 hour accessibility with coffee machine, large variety of teas etc, available. Home made afternoon teas are provided daily.

There was no separate guest lounge which we have become used to in our travels but we were only there for two nights and it did not cause any problem. Breakfast served is continental with choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt, and variety of breads for toasting. Whilst we have become used to a hot breakfast being provided, in truth the continental breakfast was very pleasant and more than adequate. A variety of hot breakfast dishes are made available for the Saturday and Sunday mornings and are very impressive.

The back yard gardens and side courtyard are nicely laid out but needed attention when we were there. Admittedly it was winter. The bird life is overwhelming with cockatoos and parrots galore to watch while sitting on the verandah. Toiletries are not provided in the ensuite and our room was not made up while we were there but we have found this varies from establishment to establishment. We think it is a nice touch if it is provided.

The hosts Alyse and Shane have only taken over this B&B recently and have already started to put their mark on it. They can not do enough for you and have great ideas for improvements to implement in due course. They made a special effort to allow me to bring my car in off the street as my wife was worried about it. This place has an indefinable charm which grows on you and in time will be THE jewel in the B&B crown. We would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: There are two rooms available. Both appear to be very similar.

I chose this bed and breakfast because I was looking for something that in my opinion was more fitting to the Southern Highlands than a brick motel. Having been deceived by online photos before ('photographic license' where things can look larger, more colourful etc than they resonate in real life) I decided we would take a gamble because the website looked good (even if things mightn't be accurately portrayed) and our gamble paid off ! We were the very lucky winners!!!
From the moment we drew up kerbside (parking is on the street but the road is safe and was never overly busy in traffic and you are able to park right out front) the vision was inviting - NO misrepresentation in the brochure - so refreshing.
Alyse, the hostess, made us feel very welcomed . We had the Jasmine room and it was a magical picture, lots of cushions on the bed in hues of brown and green, a side table with chocolates and port, air con already on at a nice temp, soft music playing. Then we were shown to the dining area where an assortment of coffees , teas and little tarts awaited us. This was available to us at all times and we even had home baked cookies one afternoon. The gardens were pretty and candles and fairy lights made them magical at night.
At no time did we feel we were in the way if we asked Alyse or Shane (host) for help , be it extra pillows or booking a restaurant table for us even at 8:45 pm. The little touches like brochures of the local region, menus, games, music and DVDs are what help 'ice the cake'. It was easy to see this B &B is a passion for both Alyse and Shane and once you put your heart in a project as they have, it can only be successful.
It is located centrally and we did car day trips to all around the Southern Highlands.
I would totally recommend staying here. Such luxury can only rejuvenate the soul :)

Room Tip: The room is amazingly soundproof.
