Since discovering this takeaway 2-3 months ago we've eaten here approx once a fortnight. The fish is fresh, and there is usually a choice of 4. I've only eaten grilled and it's always been perfectly cooked. The chips are just as they should be, chunky and tasty, reminiscent of English chips. When I stop having to visit the area regularly I know there will be special trips made from Sydney just to eat here. We often order ahead by phone to avoid having to queue.

Stopped in quickly by chance on my way from Sydney to Canberra to grab a quick bite to eat.
Great burger! Fast, friendly service. Salads and the fish looked good also.
Thanks

Close your eyes and sniff the air, you would swear you were down by the sea getting your fish and chips there.

We visited the Swordfish Cafe while traveling Sydney - Canberra on a recent Sunday.

We have a family aim to try to get off the freeway and try something local, and on a cold wet Sunday afternoon, a hamburger and chips were what we were after.

We were a bit amazed at the presentation of the food in the cool-display. The uncooked fish, potato scollops, battered sav's etc were laid out with the amount of care that makes you wonder did anything ever get sold. But it worked for us. We had 2 plain hamburgers ($5 each), and the kids each had a battered sav ($2.50 each), while we shared $5 of chips.

Fantastic ! The hamburgers were well cooked and assembled with care. The buns were perfectly toasted so they had that tiny crunch as you bit down. The sav's (yes I had to test) were fresh and perfectly battered and the chips were plentiful and well done. The lunch was topped off by us eating at the bench and reading the paper (and it was the paper of the day).

The Swordfish is on the left hand side of the road if you are heading from Sydney, right at the Bowral turn off. Lots of parking behind and in the local area.
