Bar Beach is a lovely small beach on the outlet of the lake at Merimbula surrounded by steep slopes. It is a pretty setting with views over the inlet to main beach and towards Merimbula. A you drive down there'd is a small car park to the right before you get to the bottom and their is a small shack with tables and umbrellas out front which is the kiosk. I had heard about it from others in the know who all praised the food produced out of this small structure. The kiosk opens for breakfast and stays open till 3, depending on weather. The first day I went down it was grey and rainy and he kiosk was not open. The food is usual take away fare but excellently done and they make vey good coffee. I had a steam sandwich in a panini and it was one of the best steak sandwiches I have had in quite a while. I think I enjoyed the food just a little bit more because lovely setting and view from the table outside of the kiosk. Not only hat but the staff in the kiosk were great as well. The only problem is that on a nice day there is only limited parking and you are likely to have to park on the road above the beach and walk down. Bar Beach is probably one of the worst kept secrets in Merimbula and worth the visit.
