Noticed as I was walking down The Board Walk ,That my Favourite Merimbula Restaurant PIER ONE Was serving take away Fish & Chips at Lunch & Dinner Time.We instantly decided to try them and we were not Dissapointed they were Exceptional .
The Fish, Scollops and Calamari was to die for,All served with a home made Tartare sauce.
Do your self and Family a favour and give them a Try you will not be Dissapointed. The best Fish & Chips I have ever had by a long way.We Followed this up with an Evening Meal on Saturday night up Stairs where the View over the Lake is Amazing. The place was full and the Food & Service was Fantastic as usual. I Find it hard to understand some of the Negative Reviews that some People Post, As I have been Dinning at this Establishment for the past 3 years and have never had a Negative with the Food or Service " Keep up the Good Work "It's a real pleasure to catch up with you all when we Visit Merimbula.

Typical restaurant in a touristic area: totally overpriced, below-average food and no charm whatsoever. Our dinner there was so bad we barely touched our mains. We ended up with a below-average dinner, a bad taste in our mouths and a $100 hole in our pockets. Extremely disappointing.

The location is probably the best thing about Pier One - it has outstanding views across the lake.

The food was good but not outstanding. We visited for lunch on a recent holiday and opted for one of the $10 lunch specials - a chicken club sandwich with chips (fries). The food was tasty and well-cooked while the serving size was reasonable without being generous. The menu was typical for a bar and grill establishment - a good selection without going over the top. Pricing was, again, reasonable without being outstanding. The wine list had a good range with reasonable pricing.

The staff were friendly and service was quick. Overall, there's nothing to complain about but, also, nothing outstanding beyond the views across the lake. If you're in Merimbula and looking for somewhere to eat with a good view, check out Pier One - it might be just what you're looking for.

We ate at Pier 1 while on holidays from Perth and Canberra. We had a lovely meal and good service. Unfortunately, we left our credit card behind. We had travelled 100 kilometres further on by the time we realised. We rang the restaurant and they posted the card by registered mail to arrive when we returned home. They did not charge us for the postage and were very accommodating. We much appreciated this gesture on their part.

I was able to get a last minute booking here on the 31/12/12.. New Year's Eve..
We ordered a bottle of Penfolds Shiraz, Brie deep fried, lamb cutlets, rump, and cream brûlée.
White table clothed tables, good views from window seats looking out to the inlet and the service was great.
There was a great menu to chose from, it was the first time I had ever had a deep fried chess, I highly recommend this with or without wine is was brilliant!

My partners steak on our second course was unfortunately still blue, yet we asked for medium. If it was just rare it wouldn't have been such a problem, but we did ask for it to be cooked further.. The waiter was brilliant, she didn't make us feel uncomfortable, she took it back, appologised and when it came back out they had also put another peice of rump on the plate and gave us a free desert..

This was a busy night for them, and we left very happy.

Definetly a thumbs up!
