Against the background of good reviews and a nod from our hosts, we dined at this hotel and found the attention we received reflected too many customers for the available staff. However, we did get seated and found it is an establishment where you have to get your own drinks, order at the counter etc. Keeps costs down, I imagine.
The food we ordered from an impressively extensive menu was plentiful but so, so oily, we had to pat items down with a napkin to absorb some of the oil.
The wine list was quite fair (for a hotel) but the choices of draught beers very average.
Get what you pay for, I suppose. Hence the average score.
