A lovely spot that even when the island is "full" is very quiet. A lovely spot from which to watch the sunset over turquoise waters with the massive Mt Gower watching over. Waters are calm for swimming.

This beach is lovely for safe swimming. The water is beautiful and clear being a lagoon. Kayaks can be hired to explore. Trips on glass bottomed boats or diving and snorkelling occur from here.

The water was quite calm and you can kayak to Rabbit Island to get a 360-degree view of Lord Howe island. You can also kayak to Admiralty Island from Ned's Beach, kayak will be brought by a boat to Ned's beach.

We did the Speciality Snorkelling tour with Lord Howe Environmental Tours who were professional and engaging to deal with. We paid the extra $8 to hire a wet suit and this proved an imperative as after 20 minutes at each snorkelling site one gets cold.
If you wear glasses it is also worth enquiring about the prescription goggles available if you get in early. It is most pleasant to not only see the fish, but when you raise your head from the water to also see clearly the beautiful vistas of Mt Gower, etc.
Would do again!

It's well worth doing a snorkel tour when you're on the Lagoon, they take you to 3 or 4 great coral spots that you wouldn't find on your own, it costs around $45pp (snorkel, mask and flippers included, but not a wetsuit) and lasts 2 hours. We went with Islander Cruises (in a glass bottom boat), but there are others who do the same thing. With this tour you get a hot cup of tea and a divine piece of chocolate cake afterwards...! We saw Galapagos sharks, unusual fish and beautiful coral (amongst many other things). Highly recommended.
