“Average, but expected for a caravan park”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

We stayed in a cabin with a double bed and two single bunks. It was fine for one night for us, but would have been cramped with a family of four.

There was a fully equipped kitchen, though we didn't use it as we arrived after the shops had shut.

The bathroom was small but adequate.

Honestly, this was the lowest quality motel on our trip, though it was also the cheapest, so we didn't mind.

This was the first time we've used the cabins in the Australian caravan parks, and it proved to be an excellent option. It offers privacy and reasonable prices, and space to be comfortable when traveling with more than just 2 people. The host was very welcoming, and knowledgeable, helping us decide on how to tour the area, and places to eat. It's not fancy, but was clean and fine for the two nights we stayed.

Chasin’ Opal Cabins are not part of a Caravan Park. They are eleven of them in an area on the main road as you enter. Reasonably priced they are ideal for overnight or long stay accommodation. They are not large cabins although they have a variety of bed configuration that will accommodate families as well couples. Drawbacks include (and this was in the cabin we used, #1) was lack of a stove top, a mirror only in the bathroom and missing smoke alarms, which was a bit of a worry and was indicated to the operators. Effective air con and a working micro wave as well as a good shower and water pressure were just some of the pluses. A good accommodation option for this unique country town.

affordable, clean and in the heart of town though no satellite tv.
The owners are very pleasant and very knowlegible about opals and opal mining.
room has a small kitchen and a barbeque area is available outside.

Stayed in one of the prospect cabins. It was very clean apart from a dusty floor which is to be expected from an outback town. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. There was a microwave and an electric frying pan in the cabin to cook with. Do not drink the water if you are not used to drinking bore water, I found the taste awful and it gave me a bit of a sore tummy even if I boiled it first. We came in Summer which was probably not very wise as it was extremely hot , thank goodness the cabin had a/c! Overall a lovely stay.

Great place to stay. Definately worth booking. We stayed in theProspect cabin (which was good and clean but a bit on the small side) then moved to the Opal Cabin due to wanting to stay extra time than originaly booked. Wow, the Opal Cabin is terrific, modern furnishing, better towels, bigger bathroom, bigger fridge, larger cooking facilities. If there are only two of you definately pay the extra money and go for the better cabin.

This place is close to everything with the local club and pub across the road and down the street. Takeaway places a few streets down made great hamburgers and chips.

Friendly staff who booked our tours with no problems and when there were too many for the bus for one tour, the driver waved back in 10 minutes and returned to pick us up. Great service. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and ready to have a chat.
