“Beautiful location close to beach and lake”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

We spent a lovely six nights camping in this lovely park. Check in is a breeze, staff very friendly. The park is secured by a keycoded boom gate and the grounds are beautifully maintained. We had a powered tent site with plenty of room for the camper trailer and a small tent for the kids. The amenities are modern and clean. There were cabins available which looked quite nice from the outside. A short walk to either the freshwater lake for swimming, canoeing or paddleboarding or to the beautiful beach for swimming, surfing and fishing. A very relaxing environment with plenty of water to keep the kids busy. Everything you'd expect from a Big 4 Holiday Park

We stayed here in an unpowered camp site. Having come from other camp grounds I would not recommend this one due to the following
-no shade (for all unpowered sites)
-no water taps
-no bins
We paid $42 /night and this isn't really justified-$42 per night for a patch of grass!
The location is great (across the road from the beach, close to shops) and the amenities are clean however I'd rather take my $42 to a camp ground with more value for money.

This has to be one of the best BIG 4 sites we stayed at on our east coast adventure. Beautiful park, really modern and well kept facilities and the staff were super helpful and accommodating (Wish I could remember the receptionist's name for a thank you). If you're driving nearby and need to stop - this place is a little oasis.

Room Tip: Ask for a site in the shade and near the *NEW* amenities block - you won't be disappointed.

We had two nights in one of the cabins near the beach side of the grounds. Very handy for our early morning walk along the beach and part way round the lake. The cabin was small, but contained everything we needed (incl en suite), although a couple of comfortable chairs would have added to the experience. Across the road is the surf club, serving breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed a breakfast sitting in the shade, looking out at the beach. The office lady at the park was really helpful. The grounds are well maintained and the amenities/laundry we used was clean and tidy and reasonably priced. Safe swimming for kids in the lake.

Stayed here in a delux cabin for 4 nights with my husband. Some friends also stayed in bunk beds one night. It was very quiet except for the sound of the waves crashing and the wind.

We were after something afforable but still pretty nice and this was it.

The place was pretty nice and the receptionist was very professional. I felt she should have worked at a fancy hotel! Overall a good place to stay.

This holiday park is in a lovely location on Lake Ainsworth, which is a Tea Tree Lake or black lake. It is also across the road from a beautiful beach at Lennox Head. The local surf club adjacent provides breakfast and lunch and it is quite close to Hotel, Shops and clubs.

The amenities and facilities are really beautiful and new and tis is certainly a park I want to go back to. The only down side is that the sites are very small and quite difficult to get in to, even with a small van. I would not like to be there in peak season as it would be very difficult to get your van in to many of the sites if the surrounding sites were full. Otherwise, a lovely place to visit.

We stayed for four nights in a cabin at the front of the park. The cabin consists of a double bed and a double bunk. Although their is prevision for 5 people in the cabin, fire regulations only allow 4 max per cabin.

The cabins are air-conditioned and include a stove, microwave and a full set of pots, plates and cups. The cabin that we had also included an ensuite.

The park itself is very well maintained. Controlled vehicle entry to the park means limited traffic on the grounds.

This location of the cabins provides convenient walking access to the patrolled surf beach as well as the lake.

Be sure to join the BIg4 camping association which get s a10% discount of the cabin price. The Big4 membership also includes discounts at some businesses, for instance we used it and got a free drink with our meal at Fishy Fishy.

We have booked to go to this cabin again next year.
