22 guest stay in a series of rooms but the best was 1122 where all the Bridal Party could be dress and made up with the size of this Unit. Fabulous location and within walking distance of the Fins Restaurant, which lived up to its reputation of fine food and excellent service. No need to leave this area as there are lots of eateries big open spaces for children to play and a beach just a few steps out of the complex. PLUS a huge bike path. Enjoy

Room Tip: Front Room, balcony Huge, for family or couples sleeps 6 all 3 rooms queen size beds with own bathr...

We stayed here in October last year and travelled as a couple. The Bale Salt is stunning. We stayed on the 3rd level, which was spacious and very comfortable. We loved the daily breakfast (definitely worth your dollars) and the cocktails by the pool. STAY HERE INSTEAD OF THE FOUR STAR PEPPERS NEXT DOOR! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

Recommendations: request a 2BR room on the top floor, even if you are travelling in a couple. The views are better and I'd imagine that they'd be more spacious. Pay for daily breakfasy as part of your rate. Enjoy waiter service by the pool and indulge in a day spa treatment and buy a candle as you leave rejuvenated and relaxed. My 'Energising' candle still smells divine!

Room Tip: Request a 2BR room on the top floor, even if you are travelling in a couple. The views are better an...

Spent 3 wonderful nights here in a beautifully appointed, very spacious 2 bedroom spa unit which we rented privately. There was nothing to fault and everything had been provided down to a bucket and spade and beach toys for kids.
The beds were super comfy and there is a T.V. in each room, the one in the lounge is wall mounted. There was a great selection of DVD's and CD's with a BOSE sound system.
I just loved sitting out on the large balcony which overlooked the park and also had a view of the ocean.
The beach is just a short stroll away and we were very lucky with the weather. There is also a kids' playground and walking and bike trails. Bikes etc can be hired through Salt just next door.
Just across the park there is a small IGA,(quite expensive), a few shops, pubs, restaurants and take aways--all very handy. The major supermarkets are in Kingscliff which is a short drive away; probably too far to walk, so it may be worth bringing a few provisions with you if you do not have access to a vehicle.
The Golden Door Spa at Salt is super and highly recommended.
Breakfast is next door at Salt and had a great choice of hot and cold food, buffet style.
It was very hard to leave Bale. It was very clean, quiet, had everything anyone could need and thoroughly enjoyed it--a great place to relax, away from everything.

My husband and I enjoyed 6 nights here in early April.
There was a lovely cheese platter and bottle of champaign on arrival... I had mentioned our 25th wedding anniversary..
We booked one bed room but were given a two bedroom appartment.Lovely full kitchen (we didnt use it) but i noticed nice new crockery , cutlery and saucepans etc.
The room was very clean and the king bed was very comfortable.
We enjoyed the pool area and had some 'room service'to the pool for lunch.
My husband took adavntage of the free expresso coffee in the foyer whilst using the free wifi.(No wifi in room).
Location was great. We did not hire a car for a few days as we walked and biked in to the neighbouring towns. We walked across the park for dinner each night. There are 4 resturants and a lovely couple of nice takeaways..
The last few days we hired a car from the resort and drove to Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads.

Breakfast was part of our package. It was a great buffet breakfast with lovely options of cooked and cold foods. We did find it noisy with families and young children. We had earlier breakfasts in the end as it was lovely and quiet.
I would highly recommend Bale Salt.

Room Tip: We asked for ocean views. We were on the 3rd floor close to the front and could see some ocean above...

We stayed four nights here and four nights at Salt resort in march and it was wonderful. Bale is a more modern resort, more tranquil than Salt but not as child friendly. We travelled with 3 yo and 7 month old.
The food both room service, although exy, and restaurant breakfast was great. The joy of bale is having Brekkie to your room and it is included in the price, this was good as dining each morning at restaurant can be a bit much.

All of the pools are great, especially the lagoon pool in salt which you have access to when staying at Bale. The bale reception area is gorgeous.

The staff are professional and friendly.

Some great restaurant near. Special mention of Bellini Italian, wonderful for take away or dining in.

The park and walking tracks are great too.

We booked a 1 bedroom spa suite but were upgraded to a 2 bedroom. It had a beautiful kitchen which was well equipped. The ensuite was modern and trendy. The unit had everything you could want for a holiday. Unfortunately when we were there it was pouring down rain so we didn't get to use any of the facilities but there is a lovely pool area and the pool at the adjoining Peppers Salt was fantastic for kids. A short walk across the road there were restaurants, grocery shop, hotel, ice cream shop which was very convenient as you have to drive to get to Kingscliff. There is not much in walking distance however you wouldn't really want to leave the resort. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection but extremely busy.

We stayed in an Ocean View Penthouse and at first glance it was great accommodation.
We had organised transfers through the hotel and were told when questioned that we would not be able to find a cheaper transfer than $120 from Coolangatta Airport (the maxi taxi was $70 back to the airport). The transfer was 45 mins late. He only knew to come and pick us up once we rang him. He was helpful though and stopped at the local Woolworths on the way through town, which was lucky as it's a 30-40 minute walk in to town.
Once we arrived at the Bale we were told the two rooms we had booked in the same building (using the same lift) were not actually in the same building and we would have to wait two hours for another room to be cleaned so we went with the separate rooms. We asked for keys that would allow access to both lifts and both rooms - none of which worked.
We were offered only one luggage trolley(two rooms & ten people) and dragged our own luggage to the rooms.
We were met in the room by a bottle of champagne and a cheese platter which was a nice touch.
The shower heads were useless in the non-main bedrooms.
There were four televisions and four remotes - only one of the remotes worked on all four televisions which was very irritating.
The doors all rattled - all the time. I am sure, regardless of the current extreme weather conditions that due to being directly near the beach wind isn't rare here. We spent a few minutes each evening fitting paper in the doorjams before bed to avoid the rattle.
The sheets on the beds didn't fit the bed size and the mattress was exposed by about a foot at the bottom of the bed.
The breakfast during the week was OK at the Seasons Restaurant (which claims to be 5 star - and isn't) the weekends, which is when the hotels become very busy was not great).
During the week we pretty much had the bale pool to ourselves which was lovely. Once the weekenders arrived it was clear that the pool did not fit the hotel's capacity and there were not enough lounges available.
The front reception was never attended, until the weekend.
When all of the above was raised we received a very well rehearsed, 'management 101' response from the manager.

All in all, it is a nice enough hotel although, for $700 a night, it left a lot to be desired.
