“Bush Bank Location”

All the reviews seem largely accurate, but seem to miss that it is very close to Highway One, which impacts on the peace and tranquility. This may not worry some travelers, but others it might.

We have travelled extensively and stayed in many wonderful places around the world with never the desire for a retun visit, until, Bush Bank .

This is UNQUESTIONABLY a beautiful property, but, the thing that sets it apart is its soul and that energy comes from its gracious hosts Sonya and Terry.

The breakfasts ARE amazing because they are created and prepared by a passionate cook, Sonya. The home IS warm and welcoming because it is full of Terry,s passions, art and photography.

Sonya and Terry are two very talented, generous, articulate , warm people, who through a labour of love have created something very special called Bush Bank.

Room Tip: We stayed in Lovesbay . Amazing views to the coast, own ensuite , large windows, private verandah, g...

I'm not given to writing reviews, but I find I must put 'fingers to keyboard' to tell all, of this truly wonderful place. I've travelled widely and stayed in some of the world's top hotels and cutest cottages, but few hold a candle to the welcome and exceptional attention to detail provided by Terry and Sonya at Bush Bank. Firstly, the renovated house is literally pretty as a picture, and when you see the photo album detailing the restoration, you appreciate the love the owners have for their home. And you are very much welcomed into a real home, as you sit at the large wooden kitchen table in the country tiled kitchen which is the heart of the house. Breakfast is a 5-star offering of the highest chef quality fair, served in good quantity... you scrape your plate clean! Our room was charm itself, not overdone or understated but immediately comfortable and yes... homely! :o)Immaculate and clean, the room leads onto the en-suite bathroom, which has quite possibly the 'best view from a toilet seat' ever! The warm sun streams through the bathroom window, which overlooks a shallow valley leading to the sea. Cows in the nearby paddock wander slowly across the scene and birds flit across the sky, alighting on the many garden trees that make up the extensive grounds of Bush Bank. The waves break on the shores below, and the sea air fills and rejunventates your lungs. The adjacent private verandah is a place to sit and read and comtemplate. Walking up the hill to visit the cows, one is rewarded with a stunning view of the house and it's setting. Artists should welcome the chance to sit and paint the landscape which is reminiscent of the best coastline I've walked in Devon, England. One cannot speak highly enough of your hosts, every need is attended to with grace, a genuine happy smile and a genuine friendliness that one finds so very rarely. Bush Bank is a place to return to and bring your best friends... and we will! :o)

We stayed with hosts Sonya & Terry for 3 nights in the Lovesbay Suite. I would highly recommend this beautiful B&B to anyone who appreciates excellent company, views, & gourmet breakfasts. Our stay here was more like staying with friends, sonya & terry are wonderful hosts & go out of their way to make you feel welcome & go the extra mile. The location could not be more picture perfect an absolute delight. Lots to see & do around this beautiful area, we will be back do more next time. Thanks for making our stay very memorable. PS thanks sonya for your extra help, cheers vicki & michael from New Zealand

What can I say? This B&B with it's stunning views and darling renovated interior is phenomenal and the best of our trip. Sonya and Terry greeted us with open arms and immediately sat down with us and a cold drink. Sonya was very accommodating trying fervently to find a massage therapist for us on short notice. The B&B is an actual old mill built in 1856 with most of the mill is still standing and in view from the back porch. The original house and dairy are still present as well. Sonya is a gourmet chef of international renoun and Terry is a retired professional photographer of note and a masterful painter as witnessed in his paintings around the B&B. We found both of them to be so charming and warm that we were happy to share dinner when invited and can I say it was the best meal of the trip!! Breakfast was amazing as well and we didn't want to leave. I think when someplace and someone makes you want to stay longer they are doing everything right!! I have talked with them since we returned home and know that we have made friends for life!!

I highly recommend Bush Bank and it's hosts!!! Thanks to you both for the perfect end to a wonderful trip!!

Just to add to the chorus of approval, my wife & I have stayed with Sonya & Terri a number of times and it is like visiting old friends & family! The very hospitable & gracious hosts provide a warm welcome and serve a delicious home cooked breakfast. Beautiful house and very comfortable rooms. Highly recommended!

Bush Bank B&B is a gorgeous place to visit and we would highly recommend it. We recently got engaged there! The house has been beautifully restored with polished floorboards and divine stained glass windows. The property extends to the ocean with rolling green hills and giant morteon bay fig trees. The food is to die for and is prepared by owner Sonia with obvious expertise. The bluestone cottage has been restored like a jigsaw puzzle by the owner Terry stone block by block. It feels like home from the moment you get out of the car and smell the ocean or Sonia's cooking!
