“Good seasonal value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2011

We made a last minute decision to stay here for one night a few days after Christmas. we booked only a couple of days beforehand, got what we thought was a good rate for that time of year and we able to have a hotel buffet breakfast for $5 each which was great value. The breakfast was your standard hotel buffet but at $5 each was a bargain. The staff were friendly, the room was clean. The only small downside was the view over the railway track (no noise, only one train) but otherwise, location was great and good value for a holiday town.

we stayed at The sebel,Kiama for 2 nights. Noisy air con kept us awake. A view of the railway track for a tidy $300 a night. No swimming pool or gym. No bath robes, slippers. No smiles from the reception staff. In comparison to The Sebel, Manly which was brilliant and had all that the one in Kiama did not.

I booked this room direct with the website & payed 219AUD for 1 night, cheaper than i have paid for a low grade motel on this trip. The hotel was clean & modern, we got an free upgrade, possibly as we were on our honeymoon. On arrival we got offered breakfast for 5AUD each, the breakfast was buffet and everuthing you could possibly want! Location was perfect!

Maybe i am too picky or maybe I am so accustomed with 5 star hotel treatment in Asia, but from the arrival to the departure i really didn't get the sense of "welcomed" in this particular hotel.

Despite of their location is in one of the top tourist destination in New South Wales, the ambience is VERY corporate. Unfriendly staff at the front desk. Found no warm smile anywhere except in the elevator when I co-incidentally shared it with housekeeping staff who carried a high stack of fresh towels but still can managed to greet us and being cheerful at the same time.

We stayed in the superior family room for two nights. It was the longest the room I've ever seen! Honestly ..

In terms of bedding, it was perfect! with 1 kingsize bed and 2 single beds. The room has kitchen facility with plenty of sup boards as well so it makes it alot easier for mom with two small kids who need to be fed every 30 minutes. The downside of the layout is ... nowhere to sit. I wished they re-arrange the bed, by pushing two singles beds near the window (foot end of the bed facing the door), replacing the unnecessary writing desk with one double sofa and small coffee table and place them in between the kingsize bed and 2 singles. This will certainly add the feeling of staying in a "family room".

Pros: Great location to explore the town and the blowhole, friendly staff, plenty of parking, included breakfast was really good (served in the restaurant downstairs buffet-style), the bar just next door had good drink specials and a nice atmosphere.

Cons: A bit pricey for the room decor. The only lighting in flourescent and the walls are white, so the room feels a bit sterile and washed-out, like I was in an office building. There were scuff marks over a lot of the walls in the room so it looked like a fresh coat of paint was needed. One of the lamps in the room was broken (but replaced promptly when we let them know.)

Stayed here for one night. The cleanliness of the room is a big concern to me. There was one dead cockroach on the carpet!!! This is absolutely disgusting to see cockroach in this highly rated resort.
The room is very run down, there is no bath robes, slippers and safe in the bedroom. The pillows are as
flat as few sheets of pillow cases stitched together.
The only plus in our room is managed to have a little bit of
ocean view.
Overall, not happy with the stayed
