We went to Crystal Creek Meadows for a special birthday which included over 4 hours of massage and pampering for my wife. The massage therapist was superb, skilled and attentive to my wife's needs. The cottage was more than comfortable and over the 3 nights we were there we had time to sample their own handcrafted soaps, balms and creams within the cottage and to enjoy the quiet contentment that Crystal Creek Meadows seeks to provide. The food provided, including the breakfast basket with their own free range eggs, was first class, as was the stocked kitchen and small touches that made us feel welcome and special. Our welcome was friendly and we felt included in this special place. We were especially impressed by the owners' philosophy of promoting a more natural way of living and were able to observe how this is being put into practice by rehabilitating a tired piece of farmland to create a natural environment to which native birds and mammals are returning. We have already booked a return trip to enjoy again the ambiance of this special place.

This cottage very nice and at a good location. However, I wouldn't say it is a luxury cottage. In that sense, it was too expensive for an average cottage. But if I had to rate it as an average cottage, I would say it is quite nice. Just don't expect anything too fancy.

My wife and I booked a weekend away for her birthday at Crystal Creek Meadows. Included in our package was the "Babymoon Day Spa" massage (my wife being 33 weeks pregnant). When we arrived at Crystal Creek Meadows, I was told that Crystal Creek use the services of 2 massage therapists, one of whom was unavailable that weekend. Unfortunately, the massage therapist that was unavailable was the one who was experienced in giving pregnancy massage and the other massage therapist was not willing to take the risk of conducting pregnancy massage as she did not have the experience. My wife was offered a facial or "some other treatment" instead. After indicating that the only reason we booked at Crystal Creek Meadows was so that my wife could get a massage we managed to reach a compromise where the less experienced massage therapist could give my wife a massage while she was sitting up (rather than lying on her side) but only for 30 mins rather than 1 hr. During this conversation the owner was attempting to convince that a long massage in the last trimester was not safe and this was an appropriate compromise (we'd checked all this out prior with our obstetrician who had recommended massage at this stage of my wife's pregnancy). I then discovered that rather than both of us getting a massage at the same time, because they only had one massage therapist available, I'd have to sit around for 2 hrs waiting for my wife's treatment to finish before the therapist could start on my "one hour" massage - which only actually lasted 40 mins. Having said that, the massage itself was okay - Golden Door is much better - and the cottage was clean and comfortable. Was a bit surprised that we were expected to clean up before we left though (at the risk of having to $100 p/hr for one of their cleaners to clean up whatever we had missed and especially since we had paid $780 for 2 nights stay).

If not for the stuff ups with the massage treatments I would have rated Crystal Creek Meadows a 3/5. However, for the price paid there are much better alternatives in NSW. When we go back to Kangaroo Valley or Berry, we won't be staying at Crystal Creek Meadows.

Thank you for your feedback on your stay. We appreciate that your weekend was a special occasion and and were sorry to hear of your disappointment. We do welcome guest’s feedback, (which is why we have a questionnaire in the room), and would have appreciated the opportunity to address the issues at the time of your stay, as your stay and the quality of your weekend is extremely important to us.

Crystal Creek Meadows uses only fully qualified beauty therapists. Due to the sensitivities of pregnancy we do not offer a pregnancy massage, and do not provide any treatments which could be detrimental or dangerous to pregnant women and their babies. Instead our Babymoon package includes a ½ hour head, back and hip massage. It is correct that you did request the option of a longer massage in your first email, and also correct that our Babymoon Spa Package did incorrectly suggest a two hour treatment period instead of 1.5 hours, which we have now corrected. The facial was provided to compensate your wife for the confusion, and as the Babymoon package had only been costed out at 1.5 hours for your wife, the facial cost was born by us.

In regards to simultaneous treatments, no request or enquiry was made at time of booking, and as treatments are undertaken in the privacy of a guest’s cottage it is our policy to create a peaceful tranquil mood using a single beauty therapist. Our website and Welcome Kit clearly explains every aspect of our spa treatments, property and cottages.

A friendly reminder by the sink does ask guests to wash up their breakfast items and put the dishwasher on. This is because our cottages are self contained, like a home away from home, so we merely ask guests to leave them in a respectful condition. Cleanliness is important to our guests, which you have acknowledged with your 4/5 rating. The majority of holiday rentals charge a bond to ensure properties are kept clean, tidy and rubbish managed at all times. We prefer not to charge a bond and like to welcome our guests on an honesty basis. After seven years we have never had to charge the cleaning fee.

In regards to the price of your weekend, your booking included a hamper for full breakfast and afternoon tea both days, plus handmade chocolates and a range of handmade spa products. Our charges reflect the nature of providing a quality experience using fresh local produce and handmade items.

You have said that your massage was not for the full 60 minutes. It is disappointing for us not to learn of your complaint at the time of your stay so we could verify and take appropriate action if required. We can assure you that our policy is for the beauty therapist to follow a set regime and to use a clock for each treatment to ensure every guest receives their full treatment time.

We appreciate your comments, and we will remind guests when they book that we do not provide medical pregnancy massage.

We wish you and your wife all the very best with the new baby and the future.

A perfect way to spend a week. The relaxed and friendly ambiance of Crystal Creek meadows unravels even the most stressed individual providing the perfect mental reset we all need from time to time.

The cottages are spacious and privately set in the expansive and delightful gardens, and Sophie and the team are effortlessly welcoming and a pleasure to be around. With a locals knowledge of the surrounding region the team had many suggestions of how to spend your days or you can simply enjoy the gardens treating yourself to fresh produce. The environmental aspect leaves your conscience as clear as the creek.

Ours was a holiday we will remember, and we plan to return.

My husband and I together with my 1.5 yr old son spent 2 nites at the cottage back in March for my Birthday. It was the most relaxing escape we had since my son was born.

We spent 2 nights at Rose Cottage, the cottage was beautifully decorated and spacious and warmth. Absolutely love the private garden and the surrounding areas. My son love chasing the chicken and birds and he just loves running around in the big open lawn with lots of beautiful trees and plants.

My husband and I both took turn to have a body massage in the cottage, it was very very relaxing as it was quiet and so peaceful, all you can hear was the sound of nature.

We didn’t do much over the 2 days, but time still flies.

The owners of the cottages, Sophie and Chris are very very friendly and nice and I really thank them for creating such a beautiful place for people to enjoy. I also love their home made aromatherapy products.

We would love to go back one day and stay in other cottages on the premises.

This was a wonderful place to get away to for a girls weekend. We had two of the lovely cottages as there were 8 of us, this worked really well - especially when the spa treatments were going on. Everything was lovely, food - fantastic and plentiful, accommodation - gorgeous and very clean, grounds were stunning, the meal that was included outside of Crystal Creek was very tasty (Jing Jo), and of course the Kangaroo Valley itself was a gem. So all in all it was a fabulous weekend - and yes we would all go back. Sophie & Chris have created the perfect getaway.

Room Tip: Stayed in Rose Cottage and Fleur Farm Cottage...both were gorgeous - Rose is a little larger.

Sophie & Christopher have created the perfect getaway for a relaxing time away. There is not a single thing I would change, add or take away, they have thought of everything. From the time we arrived to a very warm welcome and stepped inside to the most amazing cottages complete with welcoming champagne and afternoon tea of scones, jam & cream, tim tams, the most devine lamingtons and huge cookies, it was just so relaxing in front of the wood fire. There were six of us girls and four of us had the scrub, wrap and massage and two the facial and massage. It was just devine and we all felt so relaxed and wonderful. Dinner was yummy goodies we had bought with us followed by desert and all too soon it was late and time for bed. The beds are to die for, so comfy and both mornings I slept 2 hours more than I wold have at home and had to wake the other 2 girls! Breakfast was just so yummy with all the fresh wonderful produce provided in our basket. We then went for a nice long walk around the property which was just so pretty. Lunch was at Jing Jo cafe and included in the tariff and was just great. A beautiful setting and devine food. We then had a fun time wandering through Kangaroo Valley shops and buying lovely goodies. Everyone was so warm and friendly. A drive to Yarrawa winery was next on the agenda and is worth the drive just for the view not to mention that Muscat wine is devine. It was then time to have a relax back at the cottages before dinner at Cafe Bella which was also included in the tariff. The food is to die for and two courses were more than enough. It is BYO. Another wonderful evening, great night's sleep and yummy breakfast with the provided goodies. It was all too soon time to check out and we collected our wonderful products (for me, French Lavendar body lotion, body scrub and warming gel), just have to have. Christopher then took those of us who did not have to get away on a tour of the Eco aspects of the property. All in all it was the perfect girls pamper weekend away, but is suited so just about anything that you want it to be. Can't wait for the opportunity to return to this amazing property.

Room Tip: Our group stayed in Rose & Fleur and they were both gorgeous
