Rare opportunity to see authentic Victorian/Federation jewelry, cloths, home wares and quaint original housing brought to life by audio interpretation. This is a gem of a museum which every visitor should consider. Some of the newer exhibits might remind you how life has changed. It is great for the kids to see things form the past. There is a lovely shady BBQ area (buy supplies from the village 1 km away) and a great bush walk through the Kangaroo Valley Reserve. Note this is the only early European settlement museum in the entire Sydney surrounds so well worth a visit.

The kids love to visit here. We live locally and they took some family through who also really enjoyed it. The exhibitions are interesting and informative. The bush walk at the back makes you feel a million miles from anywhere.
This is a set up of pioneering days. It is authentic and therefore not glitzy and new. Run by volunteers, it is worth a visit. Bring a picnic lunch and get yourself lost in the bush.

This is the place to visit if you want to stop and see the river and Hampton Bridge in Kangaroo Valley. It is a wonderful place for Grandma and Pa and the grannies. Maintained by volunteers the Pioneer Farm has a great array of historical exhibits of the farms of Kangaroo Valley. There were once over one hundred dairy farms in the Valley now there are just half a dozen. Its not an obvious place to stop most people drive over the bridge and pass it by. So you have to be aware that it is on the Western side of the Hampton Bridge and you have to think about stopping there.

This settlement is more used by tourists U turning to re enter the town than to visit this attraction...as the signs trying to scare them off attests to! The adult entry price of $7 is really not going to give these plucky volunteers the cash they need to preserve for long, the artefacts they have here. A major cash injection is really needed to save the fashion, for example, which is being insect eaten as they lie displayed flat in non archive quality showcases. Airtight cases and mannequin displays would really highlight their collection which is wonderful if you can look past the condition. They probably get quite a few school groups and the audio visual displays are good and informative. The photos and mud map are starting to deteriorate and they really need someone to donate big dollars to help them. Perhaps all the tourist doing a u turn in the hunt for a latte or lunch could throw a dollar in a tin to pay for their u turn to help them out!

Took the opportunity to look over the Museum Park while in town. Its typical of a local museum/historical attraction - not flashy but giving a real insight into what it was like to live 150 years ago. the exhibits are authentic an most things have descriptive signs or labels attached. The admission prices are very reasonable and the volunteers who work there are only too haqppy to answer questions. Well worth going to whether your 8 or 80 and would be a real eye opener for todays youth who are completely lost without ther i phones or tablets..Actually would like to see some of them dropped in an isolated pert of the valley in only the clothes they were and see how they would get on for a day or so.
