A guesthouse that thinks of everything? That's Sandholme for you!

From the moment we caught sight of Sandholme as we drove around the final corner, to the moment we wished the lovely owners goodbye (with a promise to see them again when next we needed a south-coast escape from Sydney), our long weekend escape to Huskisson was just perfect.

The owners, Alan and Christine, demonstrated their understanding of what expectations a short term B&B trip entails - there's not a thing they've not thought about, implemented, provided or made available upon request, with the icing on the cake being their general warmth and nature as hosts. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sandholme, under the command of Alan and Christine, to any couples looking for a getaway to Huskisson/Jervis Bay.

As for the location, we had no issue with a short stroll to and from the main street and/or beach. It might require a car ride if your joints no longer enjoy a 10 minute stroll, or the temperature is extreme, but think about it - you're on holiday, so turn the dial down a little and enjoy a relaxing walk! Head to the beach (a 5 minute walk), follow the shoreline to the main street (another 5 minutes) all the while enjoying the sounds of the waves and the feel of the sand through your toes, and time will surely stand still anyway :-)

I travel quite a bit and am lucky to be able to stay in some top hotels around the world. This was a different experience for us and our stay exceeded expectations. A lovely couple run this guesthouse and the service and product is 5 star. Alan even carried our luggage to our room, that doesnt happen in B&B's. We got Champagne when they advertised Champagne and not sparkling wine! The breakfast was perfect and we dont need to share tables with fellow guest and I appreciated that. We will go back to Jervis bay and stay here again!

We stayed at the Sandholme Guesthouse for three nights. The location is good - within a 15 minutes walking distance of the bars and restaurants of Huskisson but not close enough to hear the noise when you're asleep!

Alan and Christine are experienced B&B owners and this has helped them cater for pretty much everything a guest can possibly need. They are also extremely friendly and make any guest's stay at the Sandholme a comfortable and relaxing one.

All guests have a checklist of requirements for their stay - mine was garaged parking, free wi-fi, a clean room and crispy bacon! I am happy to say Alan and Christine met all my expectations!

Will definitely return for the Jervis Bay whale season.

Sandholme is the best B&B experience I've ever had.

Alan and Christine, the owners, are so friendly and just delightful. They were very accommodating with our late arrival, helpful in telling us about the area and things to do, and just so pleasant to talk to. And they have thought of EVERYTHING. There's garage parking, tour info, a candy jar, a huge DVD collection, an array of homemade jams, mini fridges in the room with chilled glasses....I mean, the list goes on. Our room was clean and comfortable too. And the best part is there are individual breakfast tables so you don't have to awkwardly socialize with the other guests (my least favorite part of B&Bs usually). If we go back to the area we'd definitely stay at Sandholme again!

The room was warm, clean and comfortable. Although our view was nothing to rave about, we weren't there for the bedroom view. They were located walking distance from town. Christine and Alan were quite knowledgeable about the area. The breakfasts were warm and delicious.

If you like B&Bs, make this place a must visit if you are in Jervis Bay. The hosts are lovely, decent people, and they help make you feel most welcome when you arrive without being intrusive like some can be. It's conveniently located near the centre of Huskisson, so you never have to travel far for anything. The house itself is spacious, and you never feel like your space is being intruded upon by other guests. Price is on the high side for this area, but still great value considering the standard of service if you are after a true 5 star experience. Well worth it in my view.
