“Best place in Huskisson, dont bother to look anywhere else!”
Reviewed June 22, 2009

I went back home to Sydney last month and decided to spend a night at Huskisson with my mom and younger sister. My sister was actually the one who booked the place and she made an excellent choice. We just love the place so much. We got one of the bigger room since there were 3 of us- so it's basically private 2 bedroom with one private bathroom. Kate was so lovely making sure that we have a great stay. Both bedrooms were immaculately clean with shabby chic decor which we thought so calming, so does the bathroom. The bathroom was huge with heated floor, separate tub, plenty of toiletry and towels.

In the morning Kate made breakfast for us, and they were yummy! She was so helpful on giving us directions to restaurants and hyams beach. It was pity that it was raining during our stay so we dont get the most out of it, but I will definitely be back the next time I'm back in Sydney.

Our family group took over this place for the June long weekend. Our hostess, Kate, was charming, attentive and accommodating. The rooms were exceptional, with extremely comfortable beds and a beautifully warm wood fire burning in the lounge room. All rooms had extra heating and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was to die for. (I could have stayed in my bathroom, it was that good.) Breakfast was delicious with freshly squeezed juice, a selection of cereals, fresh cooked fruits, hot toast and a selection of beautiful jams and tea and coffee. We sat in the sun on the big verandah in the morning, some of us went on the whale watching cruise and others went into Berry, a short drive, to explore the lovely boutique and craft shops. We had a great meal at the local Chinese Restaurant and sampled food from other local eateries.
It was like being in the comfort of your own home, without any of the work. "I want to go and stay again, longer next time". Thanks Kate for the best weekend I've had for a long time. Liz Brown.

I absolutely love this place, I discovered it after various google searches under 'boutique' b&b style accommodation/Jarvis Bay as I wanted to go away for a quite weekend away on my own - when i saw it my heart dropped because it is so gorgeous, pretty and a little bit shabby chic around the edges.

Its not to far to drive from Sydney 2.5hrs, easy. The hosts are gorgeous Kate and Steve, they know the area well and can advise on things to do, see and where to eat - they also provide a gorgeous conti style breakie - the rhubarb compote is to die for!!!

After a relaxing weekend on my own, i decided to take my boyfriend and trial the newest room overlooking the garden at the back of the house, its has a huge bath in the middle of the room which is just delightful, and very very romantic - love it!

Husski also has easy access to other lovely Jarvis Bay areas to go and explore, so its a great spot! All in all a fantastic experience both times and highly recommended, I'm actually now about to book my next stay!!! (they have a open log fire so its even perfect in the winter to cozy up in front of)

Enjoy!

Kate and Steve are fabulous hosts and make you feel right at home. When walking into this slice of paradise it feels like you're staying with old friends.
The bed was a dream to sleep on and the cast iron tub completed the ideal romantic getaway.
They have great insider tips on where to eat and what to see and the fresh breakfast on the verandah was a delight.
Thanks Steve for the great cappaccinos and Kate for remembering our phone charger!
We will be back.

We have been back to Kate & Steve's B&B again, we couldn't resist. The rooms are extremely comfortable, clean and restful. Fantastic baths. Great attention to detail. Best of all, they are very relaxed themselves, so we felt comfortable unpacking the esky and using the common space to eat on the odd occasion. We are also looking forward to bringing our new little addition to the family to meet them & the house, since children are welcome. It's a 10 min (ish) walk around to a swimming beach, but Kate & Steve help out there as well if you need some car assistance.. If you don't want to swim, the place has a very comfortable balcony - a couple of times we lazily sat on the balcony from first thing in the morning to mid afternoon enjoying Steve's excellent coffees and there was no pressure for us to move..

Kate & Steve have made a beautiful B & B, full of lovely touches for their guests - a lovely place to start our trip in Aus after Sydney - if only all of our stays had been so good. Great breakfasts, superb advice on where to go etc and very friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND . Would love to have stayed longer and will definately come again if we ever get back.

We just back from a great stay 3/24-26 at Husky B&B . We were traveling with our 8 yr old daughter so we had the 'family' room. The room was very bright, airy and had a nice breeze. The room and bathroom were clean. The breakfast was perfect-Kate set us up on the porch with fresh fruit, toast & jams, yogurt and cereal...Steve's wonderful coffee-and freshly squeezed OJ. It was great! There is a common room that is comfy and a common kitchen area with a fridge to put your items as well.

We were lucky to have the place to ourselves-so that was a bonus!! It was very quiet and still at night-so sleeping conditions were great!! The house is cute...all original and has a ton of character. They do have a dog and 2 cats-which my daughter loved...(but if you don't like animals...or a little cat hair..be warned!) Kate is very considerate and tells you up front to shoo them out. They are not in your bedroom or personal area -just sometimes wander in the common room area.

From the house you can walk to town and there are a few good places to eat. We enjoyed Hawng Khrua Thai -you can BYO too if you want!

We did alot of sightseeing thru Booderee National Park. Grab some lunch and walk around Hyams or Chinamans Beach! We also loved Green Patch and the bushwalk to Governors Head. We saw lots of wildlife and wallabies on the walk. Don't miss a visit to the Museum and meet Laddie who handmakes all the boomerangs and dijeridus...neat guy with a lot of great stories of his people!!
Kate & Steve are great hosts-very friendly and they give you the space you need but are there if you have any concerns or questions. Huskisson is a beautiful spot but very quiet...we thought it was a great little beach town and feel lucky to have found it in our travels!! Aloha...Lange Ohana
